Virgo | Virgo Season 2025

The Universal Overlay

Virgo Season | August 22 - September 22

Summer quickens toward its end. What’s ripe on the vine must be harvested, processed, stored—capturing the bounty of the year’s sun-kissed quarter.

In our modern lives, what’s metaphorically bearing fruit needs our attention. Children reach new levels of maturity. As they start a new grade, we send them off equipped with backpacks, fresh supplies, and our own quiet anxieties—have we prepared them well enough? We follow our favorite football teams, hoping their preparation was enough to bring home a win. We build fantasy teams with thoughtful strategy, but will they hold up? Work ramps up. The evenings glow with patio-worthy light. Life is in full motion, like a late-summer garden overflowing with growth.

Virgo Season is abundant, but it’s also edged with urgency, timing, and critical decisions. It asks: Are you ready for what’s next? Am I skilled enough to take on this new project? Do I have time to host a lively dinner? Are the kids’ carpools, tutors, and activities covered? Is someone else—like the single mom down the street—in need of help with rides? Even my morning yoga class just changed time and intensity. Can I adapt?

This season stretches us, revealing our priorities, systems, and capacities. It shows where we're living with thoughtfulness and generosity—and where our life systems are too tangled, running us instead of the other way around. Sometimes, we see we didn’t plant well—our garden yields little while others overflow.

Virgo Season brings a reckoning: What can we actually handle? What sustains our bodies and lives? What does a well-balanced ecosystem feel like?

As a Virgo myself, I know this intimately. I often make life so intricate it becomes hard to manage. In my 40s, I’m learning that my wellbeing thrives when I have fewer things to care about, but more to give to what I truly love. That often means living slower. My nervous system goes from zero to sixty too fast when I juggle too much. I prefer a gentler rhythm—one that lets me master a few things and savor my mundane rituals with care and skill. These rituals anchor me. They soothe my easily stirred nerves.

We’re all different, though. If you really listen, this season can show you what kind of creature you are. My husband is a collie dog. After several surgeries, I’ve seen how frustrated he gets when he’s not busy—it’s a fight to get him to rest. Me? I’m a cheetah. I need lots of rest and space. But when I’m ready to run, I want everything cleared so I can sprint after a singular goal. I’m still learning how to pattern a life that supports this rhythm. Virgo Season always tests me: Where did I plant responsibilities I no longer want? What processes take too much time with too little reward? What blind spots have I missed because I feel stuck or unproductive?

We change as we mature. Life around us changes too. That’s the gift of Virgo’s mutability. It knows how to tie things up and transform. I may be a cheetah, but my environment, my “hunt,” and my routines evolve with the seasons. Virgo helps us adapt—refining our ecosystems, renewing our purpose through daily ritual and process. It speaks through our health and our harvests. We only need to listen and adjust with discernment.

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo’s version of the mind is different than Gemini’s. Where Gemini is a jester and messenger, Virgo is an alchemist and problem-solver. It’s not the head brain—it’s the gut brain. Virgo teaches technique, practice, rhythm, and skill. Its wisdom comes from lived experience, honed instincts, and the refining fire of critique. It heals through precision and patience, trial and error. That’s why it speaks best through analogies and lived stories.

This year, with the South Node moving through Virgo, eclipse season brings even more refinement. Virgo will host two new moons—one on the second day of the season, the other, on the penultimate day, a solar eclipse. The first brings necessary edits, endings, and critical choices. The second, transitional reckoning. The lunar eclipse in Pisces on Spetember 7th, will pull us inward, ending something softer, more emotional.

Be ready for life to reorganize itself in a whirlwind—cutting what no longer serves, clarifying your purpose, and refining your path with the clean, calm hand of an inner editor.

How the Season Activates You

Your Dimensional Growth

Sun in the 1st House | Thoughtful Presence

As the Sun moves through the signs and houses, it shines a light on a dimension of you. This helps you to become well-rounded and develop holistically.

Virgo, this is your time in the solar spotlight—not for performance, but for presence. While others may chase new beginnings with haste, you move with more precision now. The Sun's return to your sign stirs something both familiar and profound: a remembering of who you are beneath the expectations, roles, and rhythms that have shaped you. This is your season of sacred refinement.

With two New Moons in your sign this year (August 23rd near the South Node, and a solar eclipse to follow), you are walking through a double doorway. One for letting go. One for stepping through.

The August 23rd New Moon, near the South Node, invites a gentle release. Not of everything, but of what no longer fits. Old versions of you that once served, now simply weigh down the edges of your becoming. You don’t need to reinvent yourself, Virgo—you just need to shed the static that’s clouding your signal. Simplify. Streamline. Reclaim the clarity that comes from subtracting rather than adding.

This season asks for patience and deep trust in your own unfolding. The solar light isn't forcing you forward; it’s drawing you inward—to honor what is gestating, emerging, waiting for a more aligned reveal.

As the eclipse on September 21st approaches, your inner evolution may come to a visible threshold. Something about how you’re seen, how you present yourself, or even how you perceive your own essence, may change. This is not the Virgo who lives to serve without being seen—this is the Virgo who walks through the fire of transformation and comes out luminous, whole, and deeply anchored in purpose.

The world wants to know who you are now—not the version from last year, not the one shaped by expectation or exhaustion, but the soul-fresh version that’s being born right now in the quiet of your own self-awareness.

Let this season be a mirror and a womb. Speak your name like a prayer. Dress your body in devotion. Return to your center. And remember: Your presence is enough.

The animating guide of The Season

Mercury in the 12th & 1st Houses | Devotion to Self

Mercury is the ruling body of the season, the archetype of our alchemist and problem-solver. This aspect of ourselves will activate to respond to Virgo Season’s tone and circumstances, guide our actions, and give us a stance, or mythic script, in how we evolve, develop, engage life, and express.

Mercury, as both your chart ruler and the guide of this season, begins the cycle in your 12th house (Leo)—a space of dreams, solitude, and release. Then on September 2nd, it enters Virgo—your sign, your body, your voice—bringing clarity and momentum to your becoming.

“The Art of Becoming”

Virgo Season returns you to yourself. And Mercury, your sovereign guide, leads the way—not as a taskmaster, but as a quiet genius who has walked with you through the underworld of the 12th house, gathering insight from the unseen.

Now it enters your 1st house, your rising sign.
And with it comes the permission to begin again.

This season is not just about organizing your life.
It’s about honoring your wholeness.

Mercury here becomes the scribe of identity—one who helps you:

  • Speak from your core with clarity.

  • Make changes to reflect your current truth.

  • Edit old versions of yourself with compassion, not critique.

This is a time to:

  • Reintroduce yourself to the world, even if softly.

  • Fine-tune your habits, posture, language, and pace.

  • Make space for who you are now—not who you used to be.

Let Mercury guide you to:

  • Name yourself with kindness.

  • Trust your evolving sense of purpose.

  • Embrace discernment not as self-doubt, but as self-honoring.

This transit supports embodiment, self-awareness, and sacred restructuring.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You only need to be present.

Virgo Season asks: What does it look like to be fully yourself, on purpose?
Mercury replies: Clear. Compassionate. Committed to the truth of becoming.

Your Ground and Materialization of the Season

Earth in the 7th House | Relational Depth

In tandem with dimensional growth in our solar season, Earth’s placement, directly opposite the Sun’s reach and exerting energy, shows the dimension of us that has become the fertile ground maturing underfoot. It’s normal to feel like our efforts in a solar season aren’t paying off, but they will, in time, when that sign becomes the Earth’s sign, the ground holding us, embodied and tangible. Look to the Earth sign to tend to what is maturing and growing in your roots and soul, that needs you to be receptive and caring.

With Earth in Pisces this season, something cosmic is maturing. Our ethereal dreams are underfoot, like walking on the ocean or a floor of mist. Dreams are starting to deepen and need our care, our soulful intuition. Compassion needs our depths to align with inspiration and surrender. We process and stabilize the magic of the heart.

It is your solar season of shaping, of weaving your form into fine intention.
But Earth, your cosmic mirror, lies in the arms of another.
Let partnership become a prayer—not perfection, but presence.
This Lunar Eclipse on September 7th softens the boundaries around you.
Let love remake you—not as you were, but as you are becoming.

Personal & Continuous aims

Your Radiant becoming

PHASE OF Virgo’s YEARLY SEEDS | Aiming & Summiting

Separate from the Sun shining a light on our different dimensions through the signs and houses, we have another solar journey—a spiral journey of Conscious Evolution and Radiant Becoming—the path of illumination. I track this journey from your sign’s new moon to its next new moon, with a formula that’s a bit my own.

Virgo, your year’s seeds have been about clearing out the debris of a long chapter of life, making messes, but ultimately, space to reconnect to your core self—what lights up your sense of purpose, lifestyle, and skill. It’s been a year of rediscovering who you are and what you want. In your season, you will close this cycle and begin a new one. This year, you have something more complex seeding in your life as you get two new moons, one an eclipse, with the south node traversing your sign. The first moon will seed refining energy that will help you to clear out what’s no longer working and connect with a new purposeful direction. The second new moon will be the first of the zodiac to start seeding new values into your life. You will simultaneously be shaping, beautifying, and seeking pleasure and value in the new directions you carve out for yourself. With Saturn entangled at this eclipse, you will find a new level of mastery and focus. It’s a year of double the load for you, and no other sign could juggle all of the fresh new things coming to life, better.

As you step into Virgo Season, aim your gaze toward a new horizon. Challenge your current perspectives to imagine something grander. Explore unfamiliar philosophies, fresh ideas, and uncharted territory. Let this exploration clarify what your heart believes in—and what you hope for.

Your yearly New Moon(s) on August 23rd and September 21st are summits and seeds. You’ve reached the high point of your solar year—wiser now, and more attuned to the nature of your own radiance. It’s your moment at the top of the zodiac wheel, with Virgo’s refined light suspended at high noon. This is a time of glory, yes—but also of gravity. There’s no shame in wanting to step back for a moment, to reflect on what has been, to better understand what is, and to glimpse what could be. From this altitude, a new vision will begin to form. Let it germinate quietly in the dark soil of your inner world. Protect it from the noise. Let it root before it reaches for the sun. Your heart knows the way—align with its ease. In time, the foresight you cultivate now will become the blueprint for the year ahead.

Your Archetypal Journey

Mercury in The 12th & 1st | Seeing Behind Your Masks

The planet that rules your sign gives you an archetype—a leading character flavor. This planet is a central part of how you show up and your personal agenda. We go on journeys in the skin of our archetypes, like leading characters in books and films. Your ruler, Mercury, is the Trickster, the Alchemist, the Problem-Solver, and the Holy Fool.

With Mercury being the ruler of the season, we’ve already touched upon its effect on your life, to an extent. Because it is your ruler, I want to take you on a deeper, mythic exploration of Mercury’s archetypal journey.

Mercury: The Trickster-Alchemist/Your Ruler | Signs: Leo & Virgo | Houses: 12th & 1st | Leo-themed 12th House Journey | Stages: Disorientation → Double Speak → Liberation → Crossroads

“Re-Creation of Essence-Self”

On July 31st, Mercury—your cosmic mirror, your mind’s true voice—lit a fire in the Leo 12th house: the hidden realm, the dream-space, the womb of endings and dissolutions. A new Trickster cycle began not in logic, but in mystery. Whispers surfaced in the quiet. Symbols appeared in your sleep. A thought arrived unbidden, maybe wrapped in nostalgia, or cloaked in fear.

As Virgo Season begins, you're in the Disorientation phase. The veil is thin. You may feel like you're floating between identities, unable to grab hold of your usual clarity. Something is shifting under your surface, but it's not yet ready to be named. The Trickster hides the truth not to confuse you—but to free you from the illusion of control. This is a necessary unknowing.

Then on August 25th, Mercury enters the Double Speak phase. Truth flickers like a candle behind fogged glass. You may find yourself saying one thing while meaning another. The Trickster here invites you to notice: where are you splitting your voice to be accepted? Where are you holding back your essence out of fear of being misunderstood?

This tension, though frustrating, is also revelatory. You're being shown the false selves you’ve had to wear. The roles you’ve outgrown. The stories you’re done editing for others.

Then, on September 2nd, Mercury enters Virgo, your 1st house of self and emergence, and the Trickster crosses into the Re-Creation of Essence-Self phase. Suddenly, the inner static clears. What was hidden in the 12th begins to find voice in the 1st. You may feel a rush of embodiment, as if your thoughts are finally aligned with your body, your words with your will.

This isn’t just self-expression—it’s self-reclamation. You’re not becoming someone new. You’re remembering the you that existed before the edits. Mercury, as Trickster, doesn’t polish your image here—it restores your core signal, the pulse of your true rhythm, your original frequency. And with each word you speak from that place, something real rearranges around you.

Then, on September 13th, the Trickster brings you to the Crossroads.

Now that your voice is clearer—what will you do with it?
Now that the mask has dropped—who will you face?
Now that the essence is restored—how will you walk it into the world?

This is the moment the Trickster shifts from mirror to guide.
Not to show you the way—but to tempt you, test you, remind you that choice is the most creative act of all.

You can return to the known.
Or you can follow the thread of your essence
into a future only your truth can shape.
