Leo | Virgo Season 2025

The Universal Overlay

Virgo Season | August 22 - September 22

Summer quickens toward its end. What’s ripe on the vine must be harvested, processed, stored—capturing the bounty of the year’s sun-kissed quarter.

In our modern lives, what’s metaphorically bearing fruit needs our attention. Children reach new levels of maturity. As they start a new grade, we send them off equipped with backpacks, fresh supplies, and our own quiet anxieties—have we prepared them well enough? We follow our favorite football teams, hoping their preparation was enough to bring home a win. We build fantasy teams with thoughtful strategy, but will they hold up? Work ramps up. The evenings glow with patio-worthy light. Life is in full motion, like a late-summer garden overflowing with growth.

Virgo Season is abundant, but it’s also edged with urgency, timing, and critical decisions. It asks: Are you ready for what’s next? Am I skilled enough to take on this new project? Do I have time to host a lively dinner? Are the kids’ carpools, tutors, and activities covered? Is someone else—like the single mom down the street—in need of help with rides? Even my morning yoga class just changed time and intensity. Can I adapt?

This season stretches us, revealing our priorities, systems, and capacities. It shows where we're living with thoughtfulness and generosity—and where our life systems are too tangled, running us instead of the other way around. Sometimes, we see we didn’t plant well—our garden yields little while others overflow.

Virgo Season brings a reckoning: What can we actually handle? What sustains our bodies and lives? What does a well-balanced ecosystem feel like?

As a Virgo myself, I know this intimately. I often make life so intricate it becomes hard to manage. In my 40s, I’m learning that my wellbeing thrives when I have fewer things to care about, but more to give to what I truly love. That often means living slower. My nervous system goes from zero to sixty too fast when I juggle too much. I prefer a gentler rhythm—one that lets me master a few things and savor my mundane rituals with care and skill. These rituals anchor me. They soothe my easily stirred nerves.

We’re all different, though. If you really listen, this season can show you what kind of creature you are. My husband is a collie dog. After several surgeries, I’ve seen how frustrated he gets when he’s not busy—it’s a fight to get him to rest. Me? I’m a cheetah. I need lots of rest and space. But when I’m ready to run, I want everything cleared so I can sprint after a singular goal. I’m still learning how to pattern a life that supports this rhythm. Virgo Season always tests me: Where did I plant responsibilities I no longer want? What processes take too much time with too little reward? What blind spots have I missed because I feel stuck or unproductive?

We change as we mature. Life around us changes too. That’s the gift of Virgo’s mutability. It knows how to tie things up and transform. I may be a cheetah, but my environment, my “hunt,” and my routines evolve with the seasons. Virgo helps us adapt—refining our ecosystems, renewing our purpose through daily ritual and process. It speaks through our health and our harvests. We only need to listen and adjust with discernment.

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo’s version of the mind is different than Gemini’s. Where Gemini is a jester and messenger, Virgo is an alchemist and problem-solver. It’s not the head brain—it’s the gut brain. Virgo teaches technique, practice, rhythm, and skill. Its wisdom comes from lived experience, honed instincts, and the refining fire of critique. It heals through precision and patience, trial and error. That’s why it speaks best through analogies and lived stories.

This year, with the South Node moving through Virgo, eclipse season brings even more refinement. Virgo will host two new moons—one on the second day of the season, the other, on the penultimate day, a solar eclipse. The first brings necessary edits, endings, and critical choices. The second, transitional reckoning. The lunar eclipse in Pisces on Spetember 7th, will pull us inward, ending something softer, more emotional.

Be ready for life to reorganize itself in a whirlwind—cutting what no longer serves, clarifying your purpose, and refining your path with the clean, calm hand of an inner editor.

How the Season Activates You

Your Dimensional Growth

Sun In the 2nd House | Sacred Beauty

As the Sun moves through the signs and houses, it shines a light on a dimension of you. This helps you to become well-rounded and develop holistically.

Leo, after the blazing theater of your own season—where your heart was center stage and your creative fire ran wild—Virgo Season brings you back to the earth, to the skin and bone of your daily life. The Sun now moves through your second house, asking: What do you truly value? What sustains you? And how do you want to beautify a life that feels worthy of your deepest light?

This season is not about the dazzle. It’s about the roots beneath the dazzle. Virgo wants to know what’s reliable, what’s real, what lasts. This is a time to refine your resources—energetic, emotional, financial. What are you giving your energy to? Are you undervaluing yourself in any way, or overextending beyond what’s sustainable?

The August 23rd New Moon, near the South Node, is a moment of cleansing. Let it be a time of sorting through your inner vault: discarding inherited beliefs about success, releasing fears that have shaped your sense of self-worth, and quietly choosing what’s worth keeping. It’s a moon for simplicity, for redefining richness on your own terms. There’s beauty in paring down.

On September 21st, the solar eclipse marks a shift. Something ends. Something begins. It may involve a job, a financial rhythm, or a more internal recalibration of how you tend to your gifts. Let it guide you toward stability, but not stagnation—toward wealth, but not only in coins. This is your time to clarify what truly feeds your fire, and to build around that.

Virgo Season doesn’t ask you to stop shining—it just asks you to shine in ways that are rooted and replenishing. Let your generosity be wise. Let your earnings reflect your essence. Let your body become the altar of your devotion. You don’t have to prove anything anymore. You simply need to live as though your worth is already known.

The animating guide of The Season

Mercury in the 1st & 2nd Houses | The Devoted Appraiser

Mercury is the ruling body of the season, the archetype of our alchemist and problem-solver. This aspect of ourselves will activate to respond to Virgo Season’s tone and circumstances, guide our actions, and give us a stance, or mythic script, in how we evolve, develop, engage life, and express.

Mercury, as the season’s guide, begins its path in your 1st house (Leo), where it amplifies your voice, sharpens your presence, and invites you to speak from your solar core. Then, on September 2nd, it moves into Virgo, where your values ask not just to be declared—but to be lived.

“The Voice of Worth”

This Virgo Season, Mercury walks behind you like a mirror—reflecting not just your confidence, but your commitments. It leaves the bright realm of your Leo rising sign on September 2nd, where you’ve been expressing, radiating, and reconnecting with your personal magnetism—and enters the 2nd house, where value becomes embodiment.

Mercury here is the accountant-priest, the ritualist of worth. It doesn’t just ask what you want.
It asks:
What are you devoting your energy to, and is it aligned with your deepest values?

This is a time to:

  • Reorganize your relationship with money, time, energy, and self-esteem.

  • Reassess your resources: what you own, what you give, what you keep.

  • Speak your values out loud—and live them into reality.

Let Mercury guide you to:

  • Make practical decisions that honor your self-respect.

  • Speak gently but firmly on your own behalf.

  • Invest in systems, skills, and tools that support your sovereignty.

The Virgo archetype in this house is not about hustle for hustle’s sake—it’s about sacred sustainability. How do you care for what you value? How do you show yourself—through action—that you’re enough?

Virgo Season asks: What does self-worth look like when it’s structured, stable, and expressed in every choice?
Mercury replies: Precise. Consistent. Rooted in self-respect.

Your Ground and Materialization of the Season

Earth in the 8th House | Deep Sharing

In tandem with dimensional growth in our solar season, Earth’s placement, directly opposite the Sun’s reach and exerting energy, shows the dimension of us that has become the fertile ground maturing underfoot. It’s normal to feel like our efforts in a solar season aren’t paying off, but they will, in time, when that sign becomes the Earth’s sign, the ground holding us, embodied and tangible. Look to the Earth sign to tend to what is maturing and growing in your roots and soul, that needs you to be receptive and caring.

With Earth in Pisces this season, something cosmic is maturing. Our ethereal dreams are underfoot, like walking on the ocean or a floor of mist. Dreams are starting to deepen and need our care, our soulful intuition. Compassion needs our depths to align with inspiration and surrender. We process and stabilize the magic of the heart.

You place your gold where it matters in Virgo Season—earning, building, tending worth.
But Earth floats beneath the surface, in the shadow-realm of what’s shared.
Love becomes a deep sea here, full of memory and molten exchange.
The Lunar Eclipse on September 7th stirs the silt—an inheritance of feeling returns.
Let the current carry you. You don’t have to hold it all.

Personal & Continuous aims

Your Radiant becoming

PHASE OF Leo’s YEARLY SEEDS | Summiting & Liberating

Separate from the Sun shining a light on our different dimensions through the signs and houses, we have another solar journey—a spiral journey of Conscious Evolution and Radiant Becoming—the path of illumination. I track this journey from your sign’s new moon to its next new moon, with a formula that’s a bit my own.

Leo, your year’s seeds are bringing a need for self-focus this year as you clear an old chapter and ignite new paths. With a lot likely cleared over the past year, this year may give you more opportunity to for passionate starts and vitality to rise up. Your seeds are also deeply entangled with Pluto in Aquarius this year. Find the courage to influence those with power and learn what personal transformation and relational accountability mean.

At the start of Virgo Season, you have only just had your new moon of the year. There is still something seeding in the dark depths inside of you. This is a time to let something ignite within, to hold it close, protected. It’s a time to let the pressures of the outer world be the thing that sparks something new within. Goals, intentions, foresight, and planning are ways to help you detach from what has been.

Around August 25th, what you seeded within, whether consciously or not, will start to break something open in you. The container that was can no longer hold the light growing inside. Lean into breaking open. One part bitter and two parts liberated come with the energy of this stage. The more you resist growth and change, the greater the cracking open will feel. There is excitement and a new future vision on the other side of letting go.

Your Archetypal Journey

solar tone | Sacred Garden of Light

The planet that rules your sign gives you an archetype—a leading character flavor. This planet is a central part of how you show up and your personal agenda. We go on journeys in the skin of our archetypes, like leading characters in books and films.

With the Sun being your planetary ruler, your archetypal journey mirrors your yearly solar new moon seeds as touched on in ‘Phase of Leo’s Yearly Seeds’. I want to take you deeper into your journey of Radiant Becoming by entangling Sol moving through your houses and their signs, to help you feel your journey in your persona—your radiant, mythic arc: The Leader, Creative, and Star.

Sun: The Commander/Your Ruler | Sign: Virgo | House: 2nd | Leo-themed 1st House Journey | Stages: Seeding the Self → The First Spark

🌑 Seeding the Self | August 23–September 7

Archetype: The Inner Flamebearer
Sun in Virgo, 2nd House

You’ve just planted something sacred: a new selfhood, a quieter kind of radiance. But this season asks: Can you live your light at ground level? Not as performance, but as practice. This is the season to tend your self-worth like soil—through habits, touch, nourishment, and choice.

Your fire lives now in your spine, in your breath, in how you feed yourself. The new Leo Sun that was born in late July is still tender. It’s not ready for the stage. It needs consistency. Simplicity. Proof that it is safe to exist without needing to dazzle.

“I build the ground that can hold my light. I belong in my own body.”

🌒 First Spark | begins around September 7

Archetype: The Courageous Initiate
Sun still in Virgo, 2nd House

The spark begins to flicker. You start to see: this new selfhood wants to emerge not by shouting, but by showing up—one small, golden act at a time. You might feel a quiet urge to speak up, show a new skill, or invest in something that reflects your changing sense of worth.

This is the moment when your sovereignty shifts from concept to commitment. You embody it. You make decisions that match your values. You stop discounting your gifts. The fire grows—not fast, but steady.

“I don’t have to prove my worth. I can build my world around it.”

🌒 Bonus Reflection | What to watch for this season:

  • Is your sense of value coming from how much you do—or from how deeply you align?

  • Are your rituals and routines nourishing the self you’re becoming?

  • What’s the quietest, smallest way you could honor your fire today?

This Virgo Season, the Sun in your chart isn’t trying to be the brightest in the room. It’s learning to be true. And the truth is this: you are already worthy. You are already light.
