September 2026: Hold on and Leap

Post-Eclipse Season

While the bulk of Eclipse Season has passed us by, I'm of the mind that our new moons from the previous year are what come to culmination at present. Since last year's Virgo Season was under eclipse lunations, I expect most of Virgo Season to hold at least a bit of wildcard energy.

Linked to South Node eclipses, it's time to clean up your priorities. What actually fulfills you in life? Where are you spread too thin? How is your lifestyle supporting your wellbeing? How can you make the mundane more sacred?

A Different Tone Arrives

At the very end of Virgo Season last year, new moons began to seed in a tone that was electric, liberating, and rebellious — versus new moons that had been culminating 19-year journeys and holding onto status, successes, and old constructs for the previous two years. By the time we move into Libra Season on the 22nd, we should start to feel the result of this energy shift. Something is shattering in how we are aware of the light we hold and how it has outgrown old shells.

As autumn unfolds, this tone will continue to grow, and with it a bit of excitement, a dose of bitterness, and some rebellious energy builds. New possibilities around what we envision for the future start to feel inevitable. It may not be until after the Winter Solstice, with the new solar year chart, that the world around us supports rebel energy and leaps forward, but static charge will begin to build this autumn.

Notice where you are ready to allow brittle aspects of life to shatter. Notice where you start to have a different sense of the future. Notice unexpected networks spasm and wildly meet you where you newly are. What's coming online that suddenly throws exciting curveballs your way? How is this exciting on one hand and destabilizing on the other?

Will you dare to leap into some unknowns?

The Lunar Ebb and Flow of September

Last Quarter Moon Week (September 3–9): Early in September, we fall under the waning spell of Virgo’s last quarter moon week. Reflect on what you find purposeful and what is no longer fulfilling. Seek feedback, perspective, and be willing to transform what brings a more sacred sense of rhythm and fullness to your life.

New Moon Week (September 9–16): The new moon week initially brings pressures. This year, it could feel like pressure to break free of old daily patterns. Where do you need to try something new at work, around nutrition and fitness, connected to your overall lifestyle, or that connects you to experimentation in purpose? How is pressure asking you to step back and observe what is no longer fulfilling? Can you finish that thing you are polishing and immediately adapt to something new, unpredictable, and maybe a bit messy? After the initial couple of days of pressure, step back and detach from life to surrender to a more cosmic flow. This will help you to finally let go of some things you’ve struggled to edit from life.

  • Virgo Lunar Cycle (scroll down to the Virgo Moon & stop at the Leo New Moon Journey to review how that aligned for you)

First Quarter Moon Week (September 16–25): This is the most assertive week of Virgo Season. Start a new project, system, job, or lifestyle refinement. Organize a closet or clean up your spaces to be more functional, heavenly, and feng shui.

Libra Season (September 22–October 23): Welcome Autumn Equinox, light and dark harmonizing, and feminine energy taking the lead. It's time to reflect upon life, deconstruct assumptions, and find acceptance for what's true.

Full Moon Week (September 26–October 2): Deepen into your own core and your personal agenda, and find anchoring through being direct and assertive. It's time to manage yourself (and stop managing others) as a form of self-care.

September Headline Transits

September 10th

  • Mercury in Libra (September 10 - 30): The ruler of Virgo Season will ask us to think about others, to find processes that relax us, to tap into aesthetic projects, and to refine the important relationships in our lives.

Mercury is currently on a Cancer-themed journey. Through Libra, we can poke around and test ideas about what is fair, beautiful, and in sync about our systems of care, our mothering and how we were mothered, and the foundations of our life.

We can poke holes and flip things around when it comes to harmonizing our ideas of security and roots. We can find reflections that show us more nuanced truths about how we care and have been cared for. It's time to deconstruct our ideas of depth, care, and mothering in order to find greater truth and acceptance for these sometimes messy things.

  • Venus in Scorpio (September 10 - October 25): Especially once Libra Season starts on the 22nd, Libra's ruler will have us investigating what's under the surface of fairness and relational tensions. Venus is now in pre-retrograde shadow, revising and transforming how it loves, relates, and harmonizes.

In its Heroine's Journey of autonomy (choice and voice), Venus is in a stage of breaking down old barriers that have previously held us back. On an Aries-themed journey, this has to do with letting the floodgates break where we have previously been nice rather than claim our authenticity, where we've over-cooperated, where we've held back our warrior side, and where we've hidden our strength.

Through the lens of Scorpio, there is psychological work needed to understand what has dammed up our authentic and bold flow. Examine power dynamics in your life, past entanglements that still hold psychic charge, and childhood patterns around power dynamics, control, and overall patterns that put strain on your sassy, bold voice.

September 12th: Mercury in Libra opposed Neptune in Aries

What's reasonable and fair in reality may come up against delusions or rose-colored glasses that we or others are holding. It will take strong grounding to clarify what is true and reliable.

September 15th: Venus square Pluto

It's time to look deep into the mirror at how society has shaped your voice, your values, and your worth. What needs to be seen more clearly in order to reframe and deepen into more beautiful and liberated insights about the value of your power in society?

September 18th: Mercury opposed Saturn

This is like a schoolmarm coming in to micromanage everything you do. How can you stand up and show you are capable and ready to stand on your own? Prove your focus and dedication, and the schoolmarm will respect you and back off.

September 25th: Sun opposed Neptune

Become aware of new dreams that embolden you. This will help you accept a new call to action that could take you on a magical journey of pioneering new avenues of art, heart, and fantasy over the coming year.

Mars in Leo (September 27th - November 25th):

Move your verbs toward themes of creativity, leadership, romance, and play. Make life fun. Begin a creative endeavor. Ask someone who gives you butterflies out on a date. Act with warmth. Be dramatic. Show your passion through leadership.

Mercury in Scorpio (September 20 - December 6)

Late October will seed a new Mercury journey in Scorpio, but for this month, we are still in a Cancer-themed game. Through Scorpio's lens, we can investigate and root out how care, mothers, and security affected our mental patterns and patterns of connection. We can investigate hidden channels of power in our food systems. We can solve mysteries around the foundations in our lives, or foundations we collectively assumed were beneath us.
