Luna & A Year Of Delayed Reflections
There are many patterns you can track with the moon, but keeping with similar patterning to the other journeys, the most obvious lunar journey is through its 29.5-day cycle of lunar phases. This journey takes us from a pressure point at the new moon, around and back again, to the next new moon.
You could track each new moon’s seed through its own solar year as thirteen cycles that stagger in their unfolding (there are typically 13 new moons per solar year), but that’s a more complex journey, entangled with the solar journey. To keep strictly to a Lunar Journey, the Memoirist’s Journey, I like to use the 29-day cycle.
To me, this journey shows what we are reflecting on and the mood of things. I’ll give an example. As I write this, the Libra new moon in 2025 has just taken place on nearly the last day of the Libra solar season. While the sun has had us reaching, creating, and aspiring toward Libra themes of elegance, balance, and peace, the moon, for the whole of the season, save the last day or two, was on a Virgo reflective journey, as that was the last new moon reflective theme until today’s Libra New Moon. This has given much of the season a reflective tone and mood colored by Virgo. While I’ve created and aspired toward balance and peace, I’ve reflected on and felt a lot about discernment, organization, health, and work.
The 29-day lunar journey works in the subconscious. It requires living an examined life to become aware of and use its reflective powers with intention and for growth. It’s much easier to be taken by our mood, the tides, and the ebb and flow that comes with the lunar phases, not really tapping into the way they can help us become more aware of what’s under the surface, how we really feel, what our memories are trying to help us recognize, and intuition trying to help us with second sight.
While I have my own way of mapping the lunar phases onto my basic 12-stage journey structure, this journey isn’t so much about moving ahead, but about becoming more aware of and empathetic about remembrance. It’s a path to recognizing what’s been right in front of us.
The Memoirist's Journey: 2026 Lunar Guide
How to Read This Guide
The lunar journey is different from solar and synodic journeys. Where the sun guides our conscious aspirations and planetary relationships shape our creative dialogues, the moon reveals what we're reflecting on - the emotional undertones, the memories surfacing, the intuitive knowing beneath our everyday awareness.
The 29.5-Day Cycle: Each new moon seeds a reflective theme based on its zodiac sign. This theme unfolds over approximately 29 days as the moon travels through all twelve signs, creating a 12-stage journey from seed to completion.
Understanding the Stages: The stages aren't tied to specific dates but to the moon's position in the zodiac relative to the sun's position. Each sign the moon moves forward from the sun represents the next stage of reflection:
Stage 1 occurs when the moon is in the same sign as the sun
Stage 2 occurs when the moon moves to the next sign
Stage 3 the sign after that, and so on
The Lag Effect: In 2026, most new moons occur late in their solar season, creating a "lag" between what we're consciously aspiring toward (sun) and what we're emotionally processing (moon). For example, during much of Capricorn season, you might be reflecting on Sagittarius themes even while building Capricorn structures.
When the Sun Changes Signs: When the sun moves into a new sign mid-cycle, the stage numbers shift. The moon might briefly be in Stage 2, then "reset" back to Stage 1 when the sun catches up. These moments are noted in each journey. Don't overthink this - simply notice which sign the moon is in and count forward from wherever the sun currently sits.
The Draconic Undertone: Each new moon also carries a draconic signature - this year, the draconic zodiac is one sign forward from its tropical placement. This adds a subtle undertone of reintegration, like a second house expression of values and self-worth woven through the reflection.
How to Use This Guide:
Read the overall theme when the new moon occurs to understand what you'll be reflecting on
Check in with each stage as the moon moves through the signs
Use the reflective prompts as journal questions or meditation focuses
Notice the mood and emotional weather of each phase
This is subconscious work - you may not "feel" it consciously unless you're living an examined life
The Two Eclipses: 2026 contains two solar eclipses - February 17 (Aquarius, annular) and August 12 (Leo, total). These are intensified new moons, inviting deeper shadow work and more dramatic shifts in emotional awareness.
Let the journey help you see what's been right in front of you all along.
Note Which House the New Moon Illuminates: Look at your sun and rising charts to see which house your reflections are anchored in—the house the new moon seeds in. This will add individual nuance to each 29-day lunar journey.
1st house: Self, passion, confidence, demolition, clearing space, direction, breakthroughs, assertion, physicality
2nd house: Value, self-worth, beauty, finances, voice, embodiment, pleasure, the 5 senses
3rd house: learning, mental health, community and peers, connection, and intelligence
4th house: home, family, security, depth, imagination, inner world, women, mothers, ancestry, DNA
5th house: creativity, leadership, heart, love, leisure, recreation, romance, kids, play, competition
6th house: work, wellness, well-being, lifestyle, duties, purpose, health, rituals, rhythm
7th house: relationships, design, partnering, tension, harmony, peace, justice, diplomacy, negotiation, accountability
8th house: intimacy, wealth/debt, sharing, control, psyche, empowerment, taruma, vulnerability
9th house: perspective, beliefs, religion, narrative, PR, vision, seeking, boundary-pushing, foreign things
10th house: career, aspirations, status, position, mastery, integrity, alignment, responsibility, recognition
11th house: humanity, groups, friendship, innovation, future vision, contribution, collaboration
12th house: mysticism, art, spirituality, institutions, confinement, isolation, shadow work, illusion, isolation
The 13 New Moons of 2026
Sagittarius New Moon
December 19, 2025 - January 17, 2026
Reflective Theme: Truth-seeking, meaning-making, the search for wisdom, philosophical understanding, expansion of perspective, faith and belief systems
Draconic Undertone (Capricorn): Reintegrating structure, mastery, and authority as values. What truths have earned their place as pillars in your life? What wisdom deserves to be built upon?
Literary Reflection: Like Cheryl Strayed on the Pacific Crest Trail in Wild, pausing on a ridge to look back at the miles traveled, not to celebrate conquest but to ask: "What was I really looking for out here?" The seeking itself becomes the subject of reflection. The journey that seemed about escape reveals itself as a search for something true to stand on.
Stage 1: Seed of Reflection
Moon in Sagittarius (Dec 19) / Moon in Capricorn (Dec 20, Sun in Sag) / Moon in Capricorn (Dec 21+, Sun enters Cap)
The pressure point. What truth is asking to be noticed?
This cycle plants a seed about meaning - what gives your life direction and purpose? As the Moon moves through Capricorn while the Sun transitions, notice the brief moment where your reflection reaches toward structure before settling back into alignment. What truths are you being asked to examine? What beliefs are calling for your attention?
Reflective Prompts:
What have I been seeking without naming it?
What truth am I ready to look at directly?
What beliefs are showing up in my emotional landscape?
Stage 2: Loosening
Moon in Aquarius
Old patterns of belief breaking down. Spacious detachment.
Your reflection takes on an objective quality. Step back from the fervor of seeking and observe: which philosophies or truths have you been clinging to out of habit? What beliefs feel ready to be released? There's a cool spaciousness here, like looking at your own map of meaning from a distance.
Reflective Prompts:
What truths served me once but feel outdated now?
Where am I holding onto beliefs that no longer fit?
What opens up when I detach from needing to know?
Stage 3: Incubating Awareness
Moon in Pisces
Complex inner work. Feelings and memories gestating.
Your reflection dissolves into the depths. Truth becomes fluid here - not rigid philosophy but felt knowing. What wisdom is gestating beneath conscious awareness? Dreams, intuitions, and memories blend together. The meaning you seek isn't in books or beliefs but in the mysterious feeling-sense that guides you.
Reflective Prompts:
What does my intuition know that my mind hasn't caught up to yet?
What memories hold wisdom I haven't fully absorbed?
Where does my seeking want to surrender into simply feeling?
Stage 4: Recognition
Moon in Aries
First impulses of awareness breaking through. "Oh, I see what I'm feeling."
A spark! Sudden clarity about what you've actually been searching for. The gentle incubation gives way to direct recognition - bold, immediate, honest. Your reflection finds its courage here. What truth is breaking through with urgency? What do you suddenly see that demands acknowledgment?
Reflective Prompts:
What truth am I suddenly brave enough to admit?
What realization is demanding my immediate attention?
Where does my reflection want to become action?
Stage 5: Sorting
Moon in Taurus
Duality emerges. Sorting through feelings and intuitions.
Now comes the work of determining what's real and lasting. Which insights have substance? Which truths have roots? Your reflection slows down, becomes tactile and grounded. You're separating the fleeting inspiration from the wisdom that deserves to be kept and tended. What's worth building on?
Reflective Prompts:
Which of these realizations have real weight and substance?
What truths feel nourishing versus depleting?
What wisdom wants to be embodied, not just understood?
Stage 6: Connecting the Dots
Moon in Gemini
Weaving insights together. Patterns become visible.
Your reflection becomes articulate. All these separate moments of awareness start forming a coherent story. How does this truth relate to that memory? How does this belief connect to that experience? You're finding the narrative thread that weaves your seeking into meaning. The pattern reveals itself through curiosity and conversation.
Reflective Prompts:
What story is emerging from all these separate insights?
How do my various truths speak to each other?
Who or what helps me articulate what I'm learning?
Stage 7: Illumination
Moon in Cancer
Peak clarity. What was hidden is now seen. The mirror shows us ourselves.
Full moon energy - the emotional truth at the heart of your seeking becomes undeniable. This is where you feel the meaning you've been reflecting on. It's not intellectual anymore; it's visceral, tender, vulnerable. The truth you've been circling shows you something about home, belonging, and what you truly need to feel safe in your beliefs.
Reflective Prompts:
What emotional truth sits at the center of my seeking?
What does this reflection reveal about what I need to feel secure?
How does my search for meaning relate to my search for belonging?
Stage 8: Integration
Moon in Leo
Taking root with what we've learned. Stepping into emotional leadership.
You begin to own this reflection. The wisdom you've been processing becomes part of your identity, your creative expression, your authentic presence. This isn't someone else's truth borrowed - it's yours, integrated, embodied. You're ready to stand in it, let it shine through you. What does it mean to lead with this understanding?
Reflective Prompts:
How does this wisdom want to express through me uniquely?
What does it mean to own this truth as mine?
Where am I being called to lead with what I've learned?
Stage 9: Purpose
Moon in Virgo
Finding duty in our awareness. What is this reflection asking us to honor or tend to?
Your reflection becomes practical service. What does this wisdom ask you to do? How does it call you to show up differently in your daily life? The grand philosophical seeking becomes humble practice. Truth isn't just something you understand - it's something you serve through careful attention and devoted action.
Reflective Prompts:
What daily practice honors this understanding?
How does this wisdom want to be of service?
What small, devoted actions align with this truth?
Stage 10: Sharing
Moon in Libra
Bringing our insights into relationship. Cooperation with what we've learned.
Your private reflection enters dialogue. How does this wisdom change in the presence of others? What needs refining through relationship? You're testing your truths against beauty, balance, and other perspectives. The meaning you've been processing wants to find its place in connection.
Reflective Prompts:
How does my truth need to make room for others' truths?
What becomes more beautiful when shared?
Where does my reflection seek partnership?
Stage 11: Alchemy
Moon in Scorpio
Communal integration. Transformation through shared reflection.
Deep transformation through collective vulnerability. Your private seeking becomes shared shadow work. What transmutes when you bring this reflection into the depths with others? There's power here - the wisdom you've been processing wants to merge with something larger, become part of collective transformation. What dies so something truer can be born?
Reflective Prompts:
What needs to be surrendered for this wisdom to fully transform me?
How does vulnerability deepen this truth?
What becomes possible when this reflection is shared in the depths?
Stage 12: Wisdom & Completion
Moon in Sagittarius
The harvest of understanding. Releasing back into mystery.
Full circle. Your reflection returns to Sagittarius, but now it carries the wisdom of the entire journey. What have you learned about your seeking? What truth has this cycle revealed? There's a quality of completion - not that you've arrived at final answers, but that this particular inquiry has given its gifts. You release it back into the mystery, making space for the next seed of reflection.
Reflective Prompts:
What has this cycle taught me about meaning and truth?
What wisdom am I carrying forward?
What am I ready to release back into not-knowing?
Capricorn New Moon
January 18 - February 16, 2026
Reflective Theme: Structure, mastery, authority, legacy, achievement, the bones that hold us up, responsibility, time and maturation
Draconic Undertone (Aquarius): Reintegrating innovation, community, and liberation as values. What structures truly serve collective freedom? What mastery enables others' autonomy?
Literary Reflection: Like Jhumpa Lahiri in In Other Words, reflecting on the architecture of language itself - the years of discipline, the slow building of mastery, the way structure paradoxically creates freedom. "I wanted to overcome an obstacle. To find a new way to express myself." The reflection on what we've built, brick by patient brick.
Stage 1: Seed of Reflection
Moon in Capricorn (Jan 18) / Moon in Aquarius (Jan 19, Sun enters Aquarius - back to Stage 1)
The pressure point. What structure is asking to be noticed?
This cycle plants a seed about what you've built and what's building you. What foundations are you standing on? What responsibilities shape your days? Notice the quick shift as the moon moves to Aquarius just as the sun does too - a brief glimpse forward before realignment. What are you being asked to examine about authority, time, and what endures?
Reflective Prompts:
What have I built that I'm not fully acknowledging?
Where do I carry responsibility without recognizing its weight?
What structures in my life deserve more conscious attention?
Stage 2: Loosening
Moon in Pisces
Old patterns of structure breaking down. Spacious detachment.
Your reflection on achievement and mastery begins to dissolve at the edges. What rigid structures are ready to soften? Where has your sense of responsibility become prison rather than purpose? There's relief here - permission to step back from the mountain and see it from a distance, to question what you thought was unquestionable.
Reflective Prompts:
What authority am I ready to release?
Where has structure become too rigid?
What opens up when I stop climbing?
Stage 3: Incubating Awareness
Moon in Aries
Complex inner work. Feelings and memories gestating.
Bold new awareness is gestating about your relationship to achievement and power. What's emerging is different from what you've been told about success. There's a raw, honest quality forming beneath the surface - a truth about what you actually want to build versus what you think you should. The pressure to perform gives way to something more authentic.
Reflective Prompts:
What does my body know about success that my mind refuses?
What memories are showing me a different kind of mastery?
Where is my reflection finding its courage?
Stage 4: Recognition
Moon in Taurus
First impulses of awareness breaking through. "Oh, I see what I'm feeling."
Sudden recognition about what truly has lasting value. Not all achievements matter equally. Not all structures serve life. Your reflection grounds into what's real, what nourishes, what you can actually build a sustainable life upon. You see clearly now: some mountains aren't worth climbing.
Reflective Prompts:
What do I recognize as truly valuable versus just valued by others?
What structure in my life actually feels solid and nourishing?
What realization about mastery is breaking through?
Stage 5: Sorting
Moon in Gemini
Duality emerges. Sorting through feelings and intuitions.
Now you're sorting through all the different ideas about success, responsibility, and authority. Which voices matter? Which teachings serve? Your reflection becomes curious, asking questions, testing assumptions. You're finding language for what you're learning about structure - how to articulate a different relationship to achievement.
Reflective Prompts:
Which teachings about success actually resonate versus which I've just absorbed?
What duality am I navigating between old and new structures?
How can I articulate what I'm learning about responsibility?
Stage 6: Connecting the Dots
Moon in Cancer
Weaving insights together. Patterns become visible.
All these reflections on structure suddenly connect to home, safety, and emotional foundation. You see the pattern: the way you build externally mirrors what you needed internally. The way you take responsibility relates to how you were taught to earn belonging. Your reflection weaves together achievement and nurturing into a coherent understanding.
Reflective Prompts:
How does my relationship to achievement connect to my need for security?
What pattern links my external structures to my internal foundation?
Where do mastery and mothering intersect in my story?
Stage 7: Illumination
Moon in Leo
Peak clarity. What was hidden is now seen. The mirror shows us ourselves.
Full moon energy - the truth about your relationship to power, recognition, and creative authority becomes undeniable. This is where you feel what you've actually built and who you've become. It's not just about structures anymore; it's about the heart that built them. What do you see when you look at your own legacy in progress?
Reflective Prompts:
What does this reflection reveal about my relationship to my own power?
How do I feel about what I've created?
What truth about authority and authenticity is illuminated?
Stage 8: Integration
Moon in Virgo
Taking root with what we've learned. Stepping into emotional leadership.
You begin to integrate this new understanding of structure and mastery into daily practice. The grand reflections become humble actions. You own your authority differently now - as service, as craft, as devoted attention to what matters. Leadership becomes less about the summit and more about the work itself.
Reflective Prompts:
How does this wisdom change my daily practice?
What does it mean to embody authority as service?
Where am I being called to lead through devoted action?
Stage 9: Purpose
Moon in Libra
Finding duty in our awareness. What is this reflection asking us to honor or tend to?
Your reflection finds its purpose in relationship and beauty. What structures serve partnership? What responsibility honors balance? The duty isn't just personal achievement - it's creating frameworks that allow everyone to thrive. How does your mastery contribute to collective harmony?
Reflective Prompts:
What structures want to serve relationship rather than ego?
How does my responsibility extend to creating beauty and balance?
What practice honors both mastery and connection?
Stage 10: Sharing
Moon in Scorpio
Bringing our insights into relationship. Cooperation with what we've learned.
Your private reflection on structure enters the depths with others. What transforms when you share your relationship to power? There's vulnerability here - letting others see what you've built and why, revealing the shadows in your achievement. Cooperation means confronting what you've been avoiding about authority.
Reflective Prompts:
What do I need to reveal about my relationship to power?
How does sharing my structures create transformation?
Where does my reflection seek depth and intimacy?
Stage 11: Alchemy
Moon in Sagittarius
Communal integration. Transformation through shared reflection.
Collective transformation of what structure and authority mean. When your private understanding of mastery merges with others' wisdom, something new is born - a different paradigm of achievement, a liberated relationship to responsibility. What transmutes when we build together rather than compete? What dies so collective authority can emerge?
Reflective Prompts:
What needs to die in my understanding of success?
How does shared wisdom transform my relationship to structure?
What becomes possible when authority is collective?
Stage 12: Wisdom & Completion
Moon in Capricorn
The harvest of understanding. Releasing back into mystery.
Full circle. Your reflection returns to Capricorn, but now you carry the wisdom of the entire journey. What have you learned about what you've built? What truth has this cycle revealed about structure, time, and mastery? There's completion here - not that the building is finished, but that you understand why you build at all.
Reflective Prompts:
What has this cycle taught me about achievement and authority?
What wisdom about structure am I carrying forward?
What am I ready to release about responsibility?
Aquarius New Moon (Annular Solar Eclipse)
February 17 - March 17, 2026
Reflective Theme: Innovation, liberation, community, the collective, revolution, detachment, vision for the future, belonging to humanity
Draconic Undertone (Pisces): Reintegrating compassion, dissolution, and spiritual connection as values. What innovations serve universal love? What liberation includes everyone, even those at the margins?
Literary Reflection: Like Ursula K. Le Guin's narrator in The Dispossessed, reflecting on the wall: "Like all walls it was ambiguous, two-faced. What was inside it and what was outside it depended upon which side of it you were on." The revolution thought about deeply, the collective questioned lovingly, the vision examined for its shadows.
Eclipse Note: This is an annular solar eclipse - an intensified new moon inviting deeper shadow work around belonging, alienation, and how we hold the tension between individual genius and collective good.
Stage 1: Seed of Reflection
Moon in Aquarius (Feb 17) / Moon in Pisces (Feb 18, Sun enters Pisces - back to Stage 1)
The pressure point. What vision is asking to be noticed?
This cycle plants a seed about your relationship to community and change. Where do you belong? What future are you holding? As an eclipse, this is an intensified moment - something about your connection to the collective is ready to be seen in a new way. The quick shift to Pisces brings dissolution before realignment. What are you being asked to examine about liberation and belonging?
Reflective Prompts:
Where do I feel truly seen by my community?
What vision for the future lives in me unacknowledged?
How do I hold the tension between individuality and belonging?
Stage 2: Loosening
Moon in Aries
Old patterns of rebellion breaking down. Spacious detachment.
Your reflection on revolution and change begins to question itself. What if your idea of liberation has been too narrow? What if your vision of the future unconsciously excludes? There's courage here to step back from certainty, to loosen your grip on being right about change. The revolutionary examines their own revolution.
Reflective Prompts:
What assumptions about progress am I ready to release?
Where has my vision of liberation been limited?
What opens up when I detach from needing to be ahead?
Stage 3: Incubating Awareness
Moon in Taurus
Complex inner work. Feelings and memories gestating.
Something grounded and real is forming beneath your ideas about change. What kind of revolution can you actually sustain? What innovation serves the body, the earth, the simple needs? Your reflection slows down, becomes embodied. The future you're gestating has roots, not just wings.
Reflective Prompts:
What memories show me sustainable change versus flash-in-the-pan rebellion?
What does my body know about real transformation?
Where does my reflection want to ground?
Stage 4: Recognition
Moon in Gemini
First impulses of awareness breaking through. "Oh, I see what I'm feeling."
Sudden clarity through conversation and curiosity. You see it now - the pattern in how you relate to the collective, the way you communicate your vision, the connections that matter. Your reflection becomes articulate, finding language for complex ideas about belonging and change. What truth is breaking through about community?
Reflective Prompts:
What am I suddenly able to articulate about my place in the collective?
What realization about innovation is demanding acknowledgment?
How does dialogue reveal what I've been reflecting on?
Stage 5: Sorting
Moon in Cancer
Duality emerges. Sorting through feelings and intuitions.
Now you're sorting through the emotional truth beneath your ideas about revolution. Which visions of the future actually feel like home? Which communities truly nourish? The duality between detached idealism and emotional need becomes visible. You're finding what's worth fighting for versus what you've been fighting out of habit.
Reflective Prompts:
Which visions of change actually make me feel safe and held?
What duality exists between my ideals and my emotional needs?
How do I sort belonging from merely being seen?
Stage 6: Connecting the Dots
Moon in Leo
Weaving insights together. Patterns become visible.
All these reflections on community and change suddenly connect to your own creative power and leadership. You see the pattern: the way you contribute to the collective, the way your individual genius serves the whole. Your reflection weaves together personal expression and revolutionary vision into coherent understanding. You're not separate from the change - you're part of it.
Reflective Prompts:
How does my unique contribution connect to collective transformation?
What pattern links my creative power to communal good?
Where do individuality and community intersect in my story?
Stage 7: Illumination
Moon in Virgo
Peak clarity. What was hidden is now seen. The mirror shows us ourselves.
Full moon energy - the truth about how you serve the collective becomes undeniable. This is where you feel your role in the whole. It's not about grand visions anymore; it's about daily practice, humble service, the small ways you show up for change. What do you see about your actual contribution versus your ideas about it?
Reflective Prompts:
What does this reflection reveal about how I actually serve?
How do I feel about my place in the collective work?
What truth about useful innovation is illuminated?
Stage 8: Integration
Moon in Libra
Taking root with what we've learned. Stepping into emotional leadership.
You begin to integrate this understanding of community and vision into partnership. The insights about revolution become relational practice. You own your role in collective transformation differently now - as cooperation, as balance, as beautiful exchange. Leadership becomes less about changing the world and more about changing with others.
Reflective Prompts:
How does this wisdom change how I partner in change?
What does it mean to embody revolution as relationship?
Where am I being called to lead through balance?
Stage 9: Purpose
Moon in Scorpio
Finding duty in our awareness. What is this reflection asking us to honor or tend to?
Your reflection finds its purpose in deep transformation and shared power. What innovation serves real change, not just surface revolution? What responsibility comes with vision? The duty isn't comfortable idealism - it's confronting what must die for the new to be born. How does your service to the collective include the shadow?
Reflective Prompts:
What practice honors both innovation and depth?
How does my vision account for necessary destruction?
What duty do I have to the uncomfortable truths of change?
Stage 10: Sharing
Moon in Sagittarius
Bringing our insights into relationship. Cooperation with what we've learned.
Your private reflection on community enters dialogue with wisdom traditions and philosophical truth. What do you learn when you share your vision with those who see differently? Cooperation means allowing your ideas about the future to be expanded, refined, taught by perspectives beyond your own. The collective becomes teacher.
Reflective Prompts:
How does my vision need to grow through other wisdom?
What becomes more true when shared with different perspectives?
Where does my reflection seek expansion through dialogue?
Stage 11: Alchemy
Moon in Capricorn
Communal integration. Transformation through shared reflection.
Collective transformation of what authority and structure mean for the new paradigm. When your vision merges with ancestral wisdom, something alchemizes - revolution becomes evolution, innovation becomes integration. What transmutes when we build the new on bones of the old? What dies so sustainable change can emerge?
Reflective Prompts:
What needs to die in my understanding of revolution?
How does honoring structure transform my vision of change?
What becomes possible when innovation respects what came before?
Stage 12: Wisdom & Completion
Moon in Aquarius
The harvest of understanding. Releasing back into mystery.
Full circle. Your reflection returns to Aquarius, but now you carry the wisdom of the entire journey. What have you learned about your relationship to the collective? What truth has this cycle revealed about belonging, vision, and change? There's completion here - not that the revolution is finished, but that you understand your part in it more clearly.
Reflective Prompts:
What has this cycle taught me about community and innovation?
What wisdom about liberation am I carrying forward?
What am I ready to release about needing to change the world?
Pisces New Moon
March 18 - April 16, 2026
Reflective Theme: Dissolution, compassion, spiritual connection, dreams, surrender, the oceanic, mystery, universal love, transcendence
Draconic Undertone (Aries): Reintegrating courage, authenticity, and self-assertion as values. What does it mean to honor your individual spark within the infinite? What compassion begins with being honest about who you are?
Literary Reflection: Like Virginia Woolf's narrator in The Waves, reflecting on the boundary between self and sea: "I am not one person; I am many people; I do not know who I am." The self dissolving to see itself more clearly, boundaries blurring not to lose identity but to find it in the everything.
Stage 1: Seed of Reflection
Moon in Pisces (Mar 18) / Moon in Aries (Mar 20, Sun enters Aries - back to Stage 1)
The pressure point. What mystery is asking to be noticed?
This cycle plants a seed about dissolution and connection to something larger than yourself. Where are you being called to surrender? What dreams are asking for attention? Notice the shift to Aries as the sun changes - a glimpse of individual spark before melting back into the oceanic. What are you being asked to examine about spirituality, compassion, and the boundless?
Reflective Prompts:
Where am I being called to let go and trust?
What dreams or intuitions keep returning?
How do I relate to mystery and the unknown?
Stage 2: Loosening
Moon in Taurus
Old patterns of escape breaking down. Spacious detachment.
Your reflection on spirituality and dissolution meets the ground. What if surrender doesn't mean leaving your body? What if compassion includes practical care? There's relief here as fantasies of transcendence give way to embodied spirituality. You're releasing the idea that the divine is elsewhere, that mystery requires abandoning the real.
Reflective Prompts:
What spiritual bypassing am I ready to release?
Where has my desire for transcendence become escape?
What opens up when mystery includes the material?
Stage 3: Incubating Awareness
Moon in Gemini
Complex inner work. Feelings and memories gestating.
Something articulate is forming beneath your oceanic feelings. What story wants to be told about your spiritual journey? What memories are weaving together to show you a pattern in your seeking? Your reflection becomes curious, asking questions of the mystery. The ineffable finding language, slowly.
Reflective Prompts:
What memories show me how I've always been seeking connection?
What does my mind know that my spirit hasn't acknowledged?
Where does my reflection want to become conversation?
Stage 4: Recognition
Moon in Cancer
First impulses of awareness breaking through. "Oh, I see what I'm feeling."
Sudden emotional clarity about what home means spiritually. You see it now - the way your longing for the infinite relates to your need for safety, the way your compassion connects to how you were nurtured (or weren't). Your reflection breaks through with tender recognition. The ocean has always been about belonging.
Reflective Prompts:
What am I suddenly aware of about spiritual belonging?
What realization about compassion is breaking through?
How does my seeking for the divine relate to seeking home?
Stage 5: Sorting
Moon in Leo
Duality emerges. Sorting through feelings and intuitions.
Now you're sorting through the duality between dissolution and individual radiance. Which spiritual experiences actually nourish your authentic self versus which make you disappear? You're finding what's worth holding onto even as you surrender. Some light must remain distinct to shine.
Reflective Prompts:
Which spiritual practices honor my unique essence versus erase it?
What duality exists between surrender and self-expression?
How do I sort genuine transcendence from self-abandonment?
Stage 6: Connecting the Dots
Moon in Virgo
Weaving insights together. Patterns become visible.
All these reflections on mystery and dissolution suddenly connect to daily practice and humble service. You see the pattern: the way your spirituality shows up in small acts of care, the way compassion becomes practical devotion. Your reflection weaves together the infinite and the detailed into coherent understanding. The sacred is in the everyday.
Reflective Prompts:
How do my spiritual insights connect to my daily practice?
What pattern links my longing for transcendence to my desire to serve?
Where do mystery and method intersect in my life?
Stage 7: Illumination
Moon in Libra
Peak clarity. What was hidden is now seen. The mirror shows us ourselves.
Full moon energy - the truth about how you relate to others through your spirituality becomes undeniable. This is where you feel your compassion in relationship. It's not just about personal transcendence; it's about how you hold space for others' humanity. What do you see about connection when the mirror reflects both you and the other?
Reflective Prompts:
What does this reflection reveal about how I love?
