Venus & Loving the Warrior Within

A Heroine's Journey emphasizes autonomy over individuation, heart over strength, and the heroine's feminine role as keeper of inner spiritual and emotional worth.

I have a 12-stage structure that I use—my own take on the Heroine’s Journey, as shown by Venus.

The Aries Venus Journey

Finding the Grace of Independence and Assertiveness

March 22, 2025 - October 23, 2026

Seed Conjunction: March 22, 2025 at 0° Aries (Inferior Conjunction/Cazimi during retrograde)
Journey Completes: October 23, 2026 at 0° Scorpio (Next Inferior Conjunction)
Duration: ~19 months

This Venus journey seeded in Aries carries the fierce initiation of discovering that your independence, assertiveness, and courage have inherent worth. The perfect world that shatters is one where niceness, accommodation, and softness are required for love. This journey asks: What if my fire, my anger, my "too much-ness" is actually beautiful? What if being a warrior doesn't make me unlovable?

Throughout this cycle, themes will revolve around:

  • Self-assertion vs. relationship harmony

  • Anger as a form of self-love

  • Independence as beauty, not selfishness

  • The courage to be "too much"

  • Pioneering new forms of relating

  • The grace of the warrior

Stages & Timeline

· STAGE 1: The Perfect World

March 22 - April 27, 2025

Stage Theme: The illusory paradise & the shattering
Exact Conjunction: March 22, 2025

Geocentric Venus: Aries (March 22-29), then Retrograde into Pisces (March 29 - April 30), returns to Aries (April 30+)

The Experience:

The perfect world in this Aries journey has Piscean qualities—boundaryless love, spiritual union, selfless devotion. There's a belief that true love means dissolving the self, being infinitely accommodating, never asserting needs. The pressure builds: something about my own desires, anger, and independence keeps trying to emerge but feels threatening to this perfect union.

Around March 22, the glass breaks—perhaps seeing that selflessness has become self-erasure, that accommodation has become self-betrayal. The anger, the "I," the assertiveness can no longer be contained. You cannot unsee that niceness has been killing something vital inside you.

Character Arcs:

  • Elsa in Frozen before "Let It Go"—suppressing her power to keep everyone comfortable

  • Katniss in The Hunger Games playing the good sister before volunteering—her fire contained

  • Jane Eyre in the beginning—accommodating, invisible, afraid to assert herself

Journaling Prompt: What "perfect" world am I living in where I must suppress my fire, anger, or independence to maintain peace? What pressure is building inside me that threatens this illusion? What can I no longer unsee about the cost of being "nice"?

· STAGE 2: Denial & Death of Innocence

April 27 - June 4, 2025

Stage Theme: The broken glass, grief for lost innocence

Geocentric Venus: Pisces (late April), then Aries (April 30 - June 6)

The Experience:

"I can't believe my assertiveness/independence/anger is a problem. Maybe I should try harder to be soft. Maybe the perfect world wasn't perfect, but losing it still hurts."

Early in this stage, confusion reigns—maybe you imagined it, maybe you're being too harsh, maybe love really does require complete selflessness. But as Venus moves into Aries, the denial cracks with raw grief and anger at the betrayal. Clear, direct fury emerges: "I was taught my fire makes me unlovable. That's the lie I can't unsee."

The death of innocence is recognizing that you've been betraying yourself to be loved. The perfect world wasn't perfect—it was a prison of niceness.

Character Arcs:

  • Mulan after her secret is revealed—grief over losing her place, anger at being rejected for who she really is

  • Ariel after her father destroys her grotto—rage at not being seen, grief over the loss of her treasures and dreams

  • Moana realizing her grandmother has been hiding the truth—betrayal mixed with understanding

Journaling Prompt: What am I grieving about the loss of my "nice" self? What betrayal (of self or by others) am I denying or resisting? What truth about my fire/anger/independence have I finally seen that I can't unsee? How does it feel to admit I've been suppressing vital parts of myself?

· STAGE 3: The Fairy Godmother

June 4 - July 31, 2025

Stage Theme: Supernatural aid with an agenda

Geocentric Venus: Taurus (June 6 - July 4), then Gemini (July 4 - July 30)

The Experience:

A guide appears (inner or outer) offering help: "Your anger is the problem—here's how to package yourself better. Trade your raw fire for polish. Your independence is fine, but make it palatable."

In Taurus, the advice might be about making yourself physically beautiful, sensual, or materially valuable—commodifying yourself. In Gemini, it's about learning to communicate your needs "nicely," intellectually, with wit instead of directness—weaponizing charm.

The cost isn't clear yet. You're trading direct assertion for acceptable forms of power. You're giving away pieces of your authentic self for tools to navigate the world. Like Ariel trading her voice for legs, you don't realize yet what you're losing.

Character Arcs:

  • Ariel making the deal with Ursula—trading her voice (direct expression) for legs (access to a new world)

  • Cinderella with the Fairy Godmother—magic that transforms her but has conditions and time limits

  • Anastasia with Rasputin—help that comes with hidden manipulation

Journaling Prompt: Who or what is offering me help right now, and what are they asking me to trade away? What parts of my authentic self am I "packaging" or "polishing" to make myself more acceptable? What's the hidden cost of this transformation? What voice am I losing in exchange for access to a new world?

· STAGE 4: Leaving the Waters

July 31 - September 6, 2025

Stage Theme: Entering the dark forest of the masculine world

Geocentric Venus: Gemini (late July), Cancer (July 30 - August 25), then Leo (August 25 - September 6)

The Experience:

You've left the waters of the feminine emotional world and entered the dark forest where direct anger and independence still aren't rewarded—but neither is softness. Nothing you know works.

In Gemini, you try to think your way through, communicate, understand intellectually—but words fail. In Cancer, you realize your emotional intelligence doesn't translate here—vulnerability feels like weakness, it's not valued and might even be used against you. In Leo, you begin to perform—big, bright, dramatic, impossible to ignore—but it's exhausting and feels false.

Everything is strange. You feel voiceless, powerless, foreign. Like Ariel on land, you're in a world where all your natural gifts don't work anymore.

Character Arcs:

  • Ariel on land without her voice—in a completely foreign world where everything is strange

  • Belle in the Beast's castle initially—nothing makes sense, she's trapped and doesn't understand the rules

  • Dorothy landing in Oz—everything is in color but nothing is familiar

Journaling Prompt: What "masculine" world have I entered where my natural gifts don't seem to work? What makes me feel voiceless or powerless right now? Where do I feel like a foreigner? What old tools (emotion, intuition, connection) aren't translating in my current situation? How am I trying to navigate this unfamiliar terrain?

· STAGE 5: The Fair Maiden/Chosen One

September 6 - October 31, 2025

Stage Theme: Learning masculine logic, achieving external success

Geocentric Venus: Leo (early September), Virgo (September 19 - October 13), then Libra (October 13+)

The Experience:

You're learning the rules and succeeding! In Leo, you discover that being undeniable, radiant, special gets results—"I'll be so bright they'll have to value me." In Virgo, you perfect yourself—useful, competent, efficient, never needing help, flawless. In Libra, you become the ideal—gracious, beautiful, perfectly balanced, diplomatic.

You're earning love and value through performance and achievement. Success comes... but at what cost? The Aries seed—raw independence and assertiveness—is buried under all this perfection. You're becoming who they want you to be. Success feels hollow but looks great from the outside.

Character Arcs:

  • Cinderella at the ball—beautiful, gracious, perfect, but on borrowed time and borrowed identity

  • Mulan as "Ping" earning respect through achievement—successful but hiding her true self

  • Elphaba in Wicked trying to be good, perfect, useful to the Wizard—performing for acceptance

Journaling Prompt: Where am I succeeding by being who others want me to be? What mask am I perfecting? How am I earning love through performance, achievement, or usefulness? What does my success look like from the outside vs. how it feels on the inside? Where did my raw fire and authenticity go in pursuit of being "good enough"?

· STAGE 6: Meeting the Beast

October 31 - December 8, 2025

Stage Theme: Confronting the masculine shadow within

Geocentric Venus: Libra (late October/early November), Scorpio (November 6 - November 30), then Sagittarius (November 30 - December 8)

The Experience:

The "bad boy" energy appears—someone or something that embodies raw, unmodulated power. It's terrifying and magnetic. In Libra, you're attracted to someone who doesn't play nice, doesn't balance, doesn't care about harmony—the opposite of everything you've been performing.

In Scorpio, you descend into your own intensity—rage you've been suppressing, sexual power, darkness, the part that wants to destroy the performance. In Sagittarius, you see it clearly: this wildness, this freedom, this refusal to be contained—this is me. This is what I rejected to be acceptable.

The recognition hits: The beast isn't out there. It's your own Aries fire that's been caged. Your own warrior was deemed too much. Your own independence threatened everyone's comfort.

Character Arcs:

  • Belle seeing the Beast's rage and recognizing her own suppressed anger and power

  • Elphaba discovering her power is dark, intense, uncontrollable—and that's okay

  • Rey in Star Wars drawn to Kylo Ren's raw, uncontained power—seeing her own shadow

Journaling Prompt: What "beast" am I attracted to or afraid of right now? What raw, unmodulated energy am I drawn to in others? What intensity, rage, sexuality, or power have I been suppressing in myself? What wildness or freedom have I rejected to be acceptable? Can I recognize that the dangerous, magnetic quality I see "out there" is actually a disowned part of myself?

· STAGE 7: Spiritual Aridity & Standing Up to the Stepmother

December 8, 2025 - February 3, 2026

Stage Theme: Hollowness of success, confronting false authority

Geocentric Venus: Sagittarius (December 8-24), Capricorn (December 24 - January 17), then Aquarius (January 17 - February 3)

The Experience:

You're successful, perfect, accomplished... and dead inside. In Sagittarius, restlessness emerges—the Aries seed remembers FREEDOM and it's suffocating under all this achievement. "I've done everything right. Why do I feel like I'm dying?"

In Capricorn, you see clearly what's been controlling you—the stepmother energy. The belief that independence makes you unlovable, that assertion makes you difficult, that nice girls don't get angry. The patriarchal authority that taught you to suppress your fire. The internalized "shoulds" that built your cage.

In Aquarius, you rebel: "No more. I'd rather be authentic and alone than acceptable and dead." Rage erupts at all the years of suppressing your fire. Boundaries slam down. You stand up to the stepmother (internal or external) who demanded you be soft, accommodating, never too much. Your Aries sword comes out.

Character Arcs:

  • Cinderella confronting her stepmother and stepsisters—"You have no power over me"

  • Mulan standing up to her commanding officer—choosing honor to herself over obedience

  • Elsa in "Let It Go"—rejecting the "conceal, don't feel" mandate

Journaling Prompt: What success in my life feels hollow or dead? What "stepmother" energy (internal voice or external authority) have I been obeying that's killing my spirit? What beliefs about being "nice," "good," or "acceptable" am I ready to confront? What rage have I been suppressing? What boundaries need to be set? What would it mean to choose authenticity over acceptance?

· STAGE 8: Transformation of the Beast

February 3 - March 31, 2026

Stage Theme: Integration through true seeing

Geocentric Venus: Aquarius (early February), Pisces (February 10 - March 6), then Aries (March 6-30) — RETURN TO SEED DEGREE

The Experience:

The old self dies and a new self is born. In Aquarius, you see clearly from outside the system—the beast was never the problem, the suppression was. Objectivity brings understanding.

In Pisces, compassion floods in—for yourself, for those who wounded you, for the whole painful journey. Forgiveness becomes possible, not through bypassing but through really seeing the complexity.

In Aries (March 6-30)—CRITICAL PHASE: Venus returns to the seed degree while you're in this transformation stage. The journey comes full circle while still in process. You're back in Aries fire, but transformed. The raw independence of the seed is no longer naive—it's wise. You're assertive without aggression, independent without isolation, fierce without destruction.

Your own inner warrior (the beast) becomes beautiful. Anger becomes a healthy boundary. Assertiveness becomes self-respect. Independence becomes sovereignty. The masculine within is no longer rejected—it's integrated with the feminine. Heart AND sword.

Character Arcs:

  • Belle and the Beast both transform through seeing each other truly—love transforms perception

  • The Beast becoming human again—not because he changed, but because he's finally seen

  • Elphaba accepting her green skin and power—"I'm not bad, I'm not good, I'm just me"

Journaling Prompt: How has my perception transformed? What "beast" (in myself or others) now looks beautiful because I'm seeing truly? How am I integrating my masculine and feminine energies? What does my anger/assertiveness/independence look like now compared to the beginning of this journey? How does it feel to return to my Aries fire with wisdom instead of naivety?

· STAGE 9: The Housewife/Pregnancy

March 31 - May 7, 2026

Stage Theme: Having everything, fear of change

Geocentric Venus: Aries (late March), Taurus (March 30 - April 24), then Gemini (April 24 - May 7)

The Experience:

You have what you wanted—integration, authenticity, power. In Aries, you've reclaimed your fire and don't want to lose it. In Taurus, you want to settle into stability, build on this foundation, create, and keep this forever. "Let me nest here. Let me make this permanent."

You're pregnant with new possibilities, but afraid they'll disrupt what you've won. The devouring mother energy emerges: controlling, holding tight, not wanting anyone (including yourself) to grow beyond this point. "I've finally found my independence—don't ask me to change again."

In Gemini, cognitive dissonance appears—your mind knows change is inevitable, but your heart wants stasis. You rationalize staying put, finding reasons why growth equals loss.

The trap: Clinging to the integrated self so tightly that it becomes a new cage. Using boundaries to isolate rather than protect. Independence becoming rigid separation.

Character Arcs:

  • Rapunzel wanting to stay in the tower after discovering the world—"maybe safe is better"

  • Elsa building her ice palace and refusing to return—"here I can't hurt anyone"

  • Moana hesitating before leaving the reef—"I have everything I need right here"

Journaling Prompt: What have I achieved or built that I'm now clinging to? What am I afraid will be disrupted if I continue growing? Where is my desire for stability becoming control? How is my independence or boundary-setting potentially becoming isolation? What call for growth am I ignoring because I don't want anything to change? Where am I the "devouring mother" in my own life?

· STAGE 10: Challenge of the Throne

May 7 - July 2, 2026

Stage Theme: Duty over desire, hard choices

Geocentric Venus: Gemini (May 7-18), then Cancer (May 18 - June 13), Leo (June 13+)

The Experience:

Something larger calls. In Gemini, you see multiple perspectives—your independence can't exist in total isolation. Mental wrestling with responsibility versus desire.

In Cancer, the emotional truth hits: you're responsible not just to yourself but to others, to community, to family, to something bigger. Your throne—your sovereignty—comes with obligations. Your assertion and independence must serve others too, not just yourself.

In Leo, you step into true leadership. Your throne demands you make choices that might disrupt your hard-won stability. Sometimes duty requires change. Sometimes what's best for all isn't what you personally want.

The challenge: Allowing your sovereignty to include responsibility. Accepting that independence doesn't mean isolation. Making hard choices that serve the whole, even if it means personal disruption.

Character Arcs:

  • Elsa in Frozen 2 leaving Arendelle even though she wants to stay—duty to truth over comfort

  • Moana choosing to return to save her island despite wanting to explore the ocean

  • Mulan returning to save China despite having found her place with the army

Journaling Prompt: What larger responsibility am I being called to that might disrupt my comfort? What duty am I resisting because it requires change? How is my independence potentially becoming selfishness? What hard choice am I avoiding? Where must I put the needs of the whole above my personal desires? What does responsible sovereignty look like versus isolated independence?

· STAGE 11: The Sacrifice

July 2 - October 4, 2026

Stage Theme: Breaking the dam, surrendering control

Geocentric Venus: Leo (early July), Virgo (July 9 - August 6), Libra (August 6 - September 10), then Scorpio (September 10+)

The Experience:

All the emotions dammed up while you were being strong, independent, assertive—they flood through. In Leo, the pride breaks—you don't have to be the warrior all the time. The need to be special, to shine, to be invulnerable dissolves.

In Virgo, perfectionism crumbles—you don't have to be perfect to be worthy. The self-criticism silences. You're allowed to be messy, imperfect, still learning.

In Libra, you stop caring if people like your assertiveness. You surrender the need for balance, harmony, universal approval.

In Scorpio, the deep release—grief, rage, vulnerability all pour out. Trust that what emerges will be more real than what's released.

The sacrifice: The carefully constructed independent identity dissolves. The warrior lays down her sword. Not in defeat—in surrender to something larger. The dam breaks and you survive the flood.

Character Arcs:

  • Elsa letting go and thawing Arendelle—surrendering control to save what she loves

  • Moana giving the heart back to Te Fiti—releasing the quest for her own identity's sake

  • Anna sacrificing herself for Elsa—ultimate act of love through surrender

Journaling Prompt: What carefully constructed identity is ready to dissolve? What dam of emotion have I been holding back while being "strong"? What pride or perfectionism needs to break? Where do I need to lay down my sword and surrender? What control am I gripping that needs to be released? What tears haven't been cried? What would it mean to be vulnerable after all this warrior work?

· STAGE 12: The Empath/Businesswoman

October 4 - October 23, 2026

Stage Theme: Heart leading head, integrated wholeness

Geocentric Venus: Scorpio (through October 23)

The Experience:

In Scorpio, the full depth integration happens. You're powerful and vulnerable. Intense and tender. Independent and deeply bonded. Your Aries fire is tempered by Scorpio water, creating steam—transformation that serves both self and other.

You discover a new kind of balance—not the fake harmony of early stages, but real grace that includes your fire. You can be diplomatic AND direct, beautiful AND fierce. Your assertiveness has grace. Your independence has connection. Your boundaries are acts of love, not walls of fear.

Leadership flows from wholeness. Heart guides head. Emotions inform logic. The feminine and masculine dance together, neither dominating. You get the job done with wisdom earned through descent and return.

The Aries journey's wisdom becomes foundation for the next cycle. On October 23, the new inferior conjunction at 0° Scorpio begins the next journey—but you enter it as a sovereign, not a maiden.

Character Arcs:

  • Elsa as Queen in Frozen 2—ruling with both power and love, magic and humanity

  • Moana as Wayfinder—leading her people with both heart and skill, tradition and innovation

  • Mulan returning home honored—both warrior and woman, decorated soldier and devoted daughter

Journaling Prompt: How am I integrating my fire and my tenderness? Where is my heart guiding my head in leadership or decision-making? How does my independence now include connection? What does my assertiveness look like when it's tempered with wisdom? How have I transformed from the beginning of this journey? What does sovereign wholeness feel like in my body, relationships, and life? What am I taking with me into the next cycle?

Universal Themes Across All Signs

No matter your sign, this Aries Venus Journey asks you:

  • Where have you been nice instead of honest?

  • Where has accommodation become self-betrayal?

  • What fire have you been suppressing to be loved?

  • How does your anger protect what's sacred?

  • What would sovereignty look like for you?

Every sign experiences this journey through a different area of life, but the core lesson remains: Your fire is your beauty. Your boundaries are your grace. Your assertiveness is your worth.
