Lunar-Solar Atmosphere | Anchoring into Integrated Wisdom
This week, we come to the end of the Sagittarius Lunar cycle. Especially as the moon moves into Sagittarius, from Tuesday night through early Friday morning, memory anchors—knowings in our bodies—around what we believe (in), what goodwill means to us, and what truth feels like. Through Thursday, it’s a time to share your feelings with others, to witness and be witnessed, around perspectives that aren’t quite settled in you. It’s a time to share how you feel about the world at large, what emotions are being stirred up about the bigger picture of life, and what wisdom you feel anchoring in as knowings.
On Friday, as the Moon moves into Capricorn, we enter a pressured few days with new moon energy. The New Moon itself will fall on Sunday at 12:51 pm MT. This will kick off the Capricorn lunar cycle. Mood, memory, and emotion move from feelings about the big picture to feelings about the plan. We will move into a 29-day ebb and flow cycle around how focus, planning, and perseverance make us feel. It’s a more somber tone than the Sagittarius lunar cycle, and could bring insecurities around how we feel about our own authority, authority in the world, and what’s being built.
While we move on to the Aquarius solar season at the start of next week, emotionally, we will only be starting to process and anchor into inner knowings about integrity and authority—a lag from what’s been maturing and illuminated under the Sun to what’s felt and anchored within.
Journey With the Moon | Remember Who You Are
While moon phases help us tap into the ebb and flow of the solar season, the Moon—outside its ties to the Sun—has its own reflective cycle about recognition. To tap more deeply into memory, feeling, and intuition—how we anchor an embodied knowing of the zodiac into us—head over to the current Lunar Journey (The Memoirist's Journey). We end the Sagittarius Lunar Journey where memory and mood tap into belief and truth, and begin the Capricorn one where memory and mood feel their way through plans and focus: New Moon Journeys
Headline Transits
Last week brought a lot of tension and conflict, cracks and standing up to authority—Sun/Venus/Mars all conjunct each other, as well as opposed Jupiter. This week, Mercury becomes a focus archetype as it opposes Jupiter, conjuncts Mars and the Moon, and approaches conjunctions with the Sun and Venus.
The Trickster, in its own synodic journey, is starting to see through the game it’s been a pawn in, and in a Scorpio-themed journey, the game of power, politics, and psyche (see more from its current journey, HERE). The trickster is bringing us awareness of the game and how we’ve been played, or played right into things. Knowledge as power, this week, means knowledge of our role in power games so we can stand up to the power games’ tricks.
Mercury in Capricorn opposed Jupiter Rx in Cancer, Wednesday, January 14th (1:17 am MT)
See through the game of perspectives and narratives that have framed your ideas. Where has your mindset been affected by PR, Publishing, Religion, or big figures with seemingly intelligent perspectives? See through some controls that have been designed to influence your ideas. It’s time to stand up to the controls influencing our minds.
Venus enters Aquarius, Saturday, January 17th (5:43 am MT)
The Lover archetype is in a Heroine’s Journey to own her rage and fire. She is currently ‘standing up to the stepmother’ or asserting her boundaries and voicing her no’s. In her move to Aquarius, rage will move from erupting toward those who have controlled her with authority toward those who have controlled her through oppression of her originality and sense of humanity (follow Venus’ Heroine’s Journey more closely HERE).
Mercury conjunct Mars in Capricorn, Sunday, January 18th (12:28 am MT)
Mind and might. Tactical intelligence. A new 2-year journey ignites under pressure that brings a noticeable crack in how we give mental focus to long-term plans of action. The last seed between these two planets was also in Capricorn, but the draconic undertone had motivations more about expanding constructs through mind and might, whereas this time it’s about shattering the current construct and how mind and might can be used to dream a new future into being.
I do think this could bring a turning of those wanting to use military intelligence to expand authority to military intelligence being used for a different future. It will depend on whose reenvisioned future they want to build, but I think there is a liberating energy that will steer most toward futures for humanity. In our own lives, make new intentions around what your mind can dream of that your own boots on the ground can build when it comes to a different construction of life.
Capricorn New Moon, Sunday, January 18th (12:52 pm MT)
This year’s Capricorn New Moon is here to question the constructs we’ve built, bought into, and adhere to. Over the next year, it will ask you to consider what old values you are breaking from in terms of what’s been normalized and previously felt solid about normal life. Make intentions to liberate from what’s stagnant in ‘normal’ and what new values are arising that help you to dream of building a different ‘normal’.
My 2026 Solar Journey guide and workbook goes into much more detail, along with journaling prompts, intention-setting guidance, how the ruling planet, Saturn in Pisces, affects this, and how your own sign’s relationship to Capricorn/Pisces energy gives you more specific areas to focus on. If you want to follow along with this guide/workbook, you can get one HERE. I will also be sending out a video on Friday through Substack (subscribe in the footer) for added new moon planning/intention setting assistance.
