Lunar-Solar Atmosphere | Aquarius Season and new moon week
We welcome Aquarius Season today (Monday, January 19th) at 6:44 pm MT. This shifts us from a tone of trying to hold the summit of life together with strict focus and long-term planning to an energy of shattering, where the things that have become too stiff and brittle can no longer hold the cracks together. It’s ‘Call to Action’ energy. It’s bitterness and liberation as two sides of the same coin. This is where we allow new light growing from within to burst through the cracks of a construct holding us back. Let your rebel flags wave. Break the barriers holding you back from your full spectrum of light. Let your inner rainbow of originality shine freely. Aquarius is collective energy, it’s the coolness of friendship that doesn’t judge but doens’t get too emotionally entangled either. It’s the energy we all contain within us that wants the best for the collective, that collaborates, and that wants people to be who they really are, sans expectations, programming, fear, posturing, conforming, and doubt. It’s an energy that asks us to add our most pure spectrum of light to the growing light of the frigid season. Ice cracking and eroding rock.
As we step into this new season, we are also in a new moon week until Sunday afternoon. Initial pressures weigh with the moon also in Aquarius until Tuesday night. After that, things will become more radical and spacious with the moon in the waxing crescent phase, which I associate with the energies of Aquarius and Pisces, doubling down on the season’s purpose. The Sun will illuminate Pluto on Friday, bringing transformative intensity to the weekend. Every time the Sun has illuminated a planet from the year’s solar chart, big events have sparked. Thursday is when the Sun will pass the degree of Pluto in that chart. Something related to tech, collectives, networks, new age things (even aliens), or rebellion, meets with transformative intensity.
Journey With the Moon | Remember Who You Are
While moon phases help us tap into the ebb and flow of the solar season, the Moon—outside its ties to the Sun—has its own reflective cycle about recognition. To tap more deeply into memory, feeling, and intuition—how we anchor an embodied knowing of the zodiac into us—head over to the current Lunar Journey (The Memoirist's Journey). We started the Capricorn lunar journey on January 18th. A journey where memory and mood feel their way through authority, planning, and focus: New Moon Journeys
Headline Transits
Pluto and Mercury are standing up to authority this week, just as we gain archetypal solidity as Rebel Informeres and Chess Players for Humanity. The Sun, Mercury, and Mars join the rebellion in Aquarius this week, giving humanity more tools for their kits.
Venus conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, Monday, January 19th (9:03 pm MT)
A new year-long agreement is formed between Venus, the planet of equity and beauty, and Pluto, the ruler of psyche, investigation, and transformation. In Aquarius, their shared agenda turns toward uprooting value systems that affect humanity. We can make intentions to create empowering technologies owned by humanity. Think publicly owned social network platforms with user controled algorhythms (idea borrowed from Matthew Cooke). Or we can be greedy technocrats who empower ourselves through networking platforms owned by a few. If we could control social network data more publicly, imagine the shift in value we could transform.
Mercury enters Aquarius, Tuesday, January 20th (9:40 am MT) - February 6th
Mind and movement meet rebellion, breaking rules, thinking outside of the box, and liberating our ideas.
Sun conjunct Mercury in Aquarius (Cazimi), Wednesday, January 21st (8:59 am MT)
This is an important moment in the current Mercury Trickster’s Journey. Mercury is currently on a Scorpio-themed journey, working to see through logic flaws, duplicities, upside-down and inside-out tricks of power. It is uprooting, investigating, and creating its own tricks to reflect power’s tricks to itself. At this conjunction, an Archetype of the liberated Trickster—the Rebel Informer—ignites just as this current journey comes to the pivotal moment of seeing the architect behind the game of power that we’ve been a pawn in. This is the moment where we must stand up to the revealed game designers with this new archetypal ignition of liberating our minds from control. Visit the current Mercury Journey for more about this: A Trickster's Path from Power to Humanity
Mercury conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, Thursday, January 21st (10:13 am MT)
A new year-long agreement between mind and power ignites this week. In the sign of Aquarius, this will bring empowering ideas about liberation, game-crafting that serves the power of humanity, and the uprooting of mind tricks that keep us confined by oppression.
Mars in Aquarius, Friday, January 23rd (2:16 pm MT) - March 2nd
Action and direction meet liberation. Soldiers rebelling. Armies for humanity are forming. Boots on the ground for collectives. Direction and clarity found for collaborations. Passion for humanity. Anger and rage at oppressors. Men breaking free of old constructs.
Sun conjunct Pluto in Aquarius (Cazimi), Friday, January 23rd (3:27 am MT)
An archetype solidifies in us of the Empowered Social Politician and Chess Player just as Pluto’s current synodic journey reaches a moment of needing to stand up to the ultimate power wielders. This is a pivotal moment in the year. A moment of finding our ground to stand up to the people, influences, and inner psychological blocks that keep us small, make us vulnerable to control, and traumatize us. We find depth and ground in our hearts as we stand up to cold and networked overlords, technocrats sucking power from the collective for their own power hunger, that is a never-ending void of hell. Our own inner blocks that say, who are you as one creative individual against a world of technologically seasoned and resourced vampires? But maybe, just maybe, you are a mirror that shows a reflection humanity needs to see that’s been hidden. Once an image is visualized or witnessed, it can not be taken back, and that is a powerful weapon worth one person’s billions of dollars and powerful networks. The image of a wooden tent pole and a kick in the butt (IYKYK)!
