A Week of Liminal Transitions
March 16 - 22, 2026
New Moon Week of Pisces season | Spring Equinox & Aries Season
With our new moons falling at the end of solar seasons this year, we bring a close to Pisces Season under a bit of pressure from lunar and solar gravity — both pulling our attention toward the end of the zodiac, where things already dissolving really dissolve and thresholds are entered.
The Pisces New Moon arrives on Wednesday, March 18, at 7:23 pm (28° 27'). In the solar year chart, this happens on top of where both Saturn and Neptune were, and close enough to where they currently are to still be considered conjunct. Because Saturn and Neptune have moved to Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, they act like a bridge at this new moon — from the end of one thing to the beginning of another. From one construct and dream of life to a wholly different one. I would imagine many threshold moments will bubble up this week as the moon moves through Pisces and Aries, from this evening through Friday, aligned with the Sun's own transition from the end to the beginning of the zodiac.
What are you ready to release? What chapter feels like it's meant to end — gently, yet reorientingly? Uncertainty could feel front and center, but the stars are ready for you to take new and very different steps in your life, especially if you have planets or angles at the end of Pisces or the beginning of Aries.
We reach the solar year threshold on Friday, March 20th at 8:46 am MT, with the Spring Equinox and the start of Aries Season. But another uncertain thread remains: Mercury also stations direct, several hours later, in Pisces at 8°. When Mercury stations retrograde or direct, as astrologer Susan White has put it, it's like a ship turning in water — things pause and become swirly.
It may not be until next week that we feel our feet under us and life moving the way the Aries Sun likes. And even through Tuesday of next week, the phase of the moon remains spacious and dreamy. I'd give yourself about ten days from today for transitions to settle, ripples in the air to sort themselves out, and thresholds to feel clearer.
One more note on life feeling a bit liminal: the ruler of Aries Season, Mars, will be in Pisces, still sorting things out in liminal territory through April 9th. This could make Aries' spring fire a bit softer and less forward-moving for a few weeks. My advice is to channel as much patience as you can in the coming week, as clarity and chaos bubble up and down — both present, but neither taking the lead.
Journey With the Moon | Remember Who You Are
While lunar phases help us ride the ebb and flow of the solar season, the Moon — independent of the Sun — holds its own quiet, reflective cycle around somatic knowing. To sink more deeply into memory, feeling, and intuition, follow the current Lunar Journey: The Memoirist's Journey.
This week, we end the Aquarius New Moon Journey (February 17 – March 17, 2026), a cycle devoted to processing the felt sense of hope, the future, and the beautiful tension between individual genius and collective flourishing. On Wednesday, at the Pisces New Moon, we begin the 29-day Pisces Lunar Journey (March 18 - April 16, 2026), a cycle about reflecting on the boundary between self and sea—self dissolving to feel itself more clearly, boundaries blurring not to lose identity but to find meaning in the union of everything.

Sun conjunct Neptune in Aries (1° 50’)
We end the week in a very dreamy place — and also experiencing a new kind of archetypal energy within us: the Active Dreamer. The dreamer who is willing to roll their sleeves up and do the work to make a dream real. Feel this energy come alive in you. Be bold about your dreams and daring in how you act on them.
A small word of caution: Neptune in Aries can bring forth Crusaders — spiritual warrior archetypes — which has already been bubbling up since Neptune moved into Aries. This will be the first time the Sun crosses Neptune in Aries in our lifetimes, and so that archetype could spark to life in more pronounced and embodied ways. Even though Neptune can turn a bit militant in Aries, it is still a soft, dreamy planet. The best way to reach those who go too far with this energy is through the heart — that's where Neptune hears.
