A Week of Moving Toward Action

March 23 - 29, 2026
1st Quarter Moon Week of Aries season | spring into Action
Anxiety arises in the first days of the week with the moon in Gemini and a late waxing crescent moon. If we mapped Aries Season onto a single day, this is like twilight — a time between realms. Add Gemini to the mix, and our busy minds start to influence this liminal emotional field. Place this all within Aries Season, which wants everything charging forward with clarity, and it's a recipe for needing to pause, dream, and understand something more from the heart than the ego — while our impulses keep screaming to just do something. Find patience and kindness on Monday and Tuesday (not to mention that Mercury is still in its post-retrograde shadow). Reign it in, friends. The time for clearer action is days away.
Wednesday and Thursday are when we finally get to accelerate the way Aries loves to. New order and initiative will feel possible, but with the moon in Cancer, be sure your actions are in support of your soul's needs. What do you need? What makes you feel secure? What brings depth and rootedness to what you are initiating? This is like the Aries phase of the moon in Aries Season. But with Cancer ruling the emotional realm, we need to stay caring and responsive in our assertive energies, rather than reacting with emotion to impulses and aggression.
Friday through mid-Sunday, with the moon in Leo in a waxing gibbous phase, it's time to be brave and heartfelt. Perform your boldness — but let it feel in touch with your essence, your deepest preferences, the qualities that are unmistakably and uniquely you.
All of this unfolds within the Pisces Lunar synodic cycle. The active doing of Aries energy this week is leading to reflections and understandings that help us recognize something about our own consciousness on a deeper, more compassionate level.
Journey With the Moon | Remember Who You Are
While lunar phases help us ride the ebb and flow of the solar season, the Moon — independent of the Sun — holds its own quiet, reflective cycle around somatic knowing. To sink more deeply into memory, feeling, and intuition, follow the current Lunar Journey: The Memoirist's Journey.
We are currently in the 29-day Pisces Lunar Journey (March 18 - April 16, 2026), a cycle about reflecting on the boundary between self and sea—self dissolving to feel itself more clearly, boundaries blurring not to lose identity but to find meaning in the union of everything.

Sun conjunct Saturn in Aries (4° 43’)
The way I interpret solar conjunctions is as moments when one of our archetypes crystallizes with a certain quality. Saturn is our Father and Architect energy — animating the structures we build to hold ourselves, our societies, and our bodies (literally, our skeletal frame relates to our Saturn archetype). Aries is about raw impulse, new beginnings, out with the old and in with the new — pioneering, maverick independence.
When the Sun and Saturn meet, our inner architect and structural sense come alive in new ways. It's time to stop dreaming about what we are building, what rules govern our society, and what we aim for in the long term — and to start breaking old rules to build something that feels fresher and more alive. Have you been dreaming over the past five years of a different structure in your life, a different structure in your society, a different set of laws that govern you?
Come alive with more audacity now. More independence in what you obey and claim as authority in you or over you. Be bold and independent, fresh and alive, in the structural goals you set into motion.
The last time the Sun was conjunct Saturn in Aries was in the spring of 1997 and 1998, giving us an Aries-Saturn archetype through to the spring of 1999. You might look back at that time — not to repeat what you did then (you and the world are much different now) — but to feel inspired by how you responded, or didn't, to the voice in you urging you to build things with independent authority.
During that time, the dot-com bubble and tech companies sprang to life. Entrepreneurship was a thriving space. A shift toward authority being earned (rather than assumed) became more popular, with a cultural ethos emerging around respect for being self-made versus inheriting titles and success. We've already been playing with the term "nepo baby" for a few years, but some new innovations may be coming that make inherited advantage a little more difficult to coast on — the skills needed to master what's coming aren't necessarily ones you would have learned from your upbringing or have access to through inherited legacies. The self-help genre exploded with Tony Robbins and Stephen Covey (self-mastery), girl power became a cultural force with Buffy, Xena, and the Lilith Fair.
Politically, Tony Blair's "New Labour" infused modern leadership that broke some old hierarchical structures. As astrologer Jessica Davidson points out, the UK made a deal to return Hong Kong to China, and Scotland voted for its own parliament. Chávez was also elected president of Venezuela with his bold, unapologetic style of leadership, as noted by the astrology site The Saturn Way.
We will carry this boldness for the next two years. The Sun and Saturn meet every 13 months and will meet one more time next spring before moving into a new quality in the spring of 2028.
Because astrology charts aren't designed to show transits to Earth, the Sun will always point to the opposite of how the Earth is in aspect. Solar conjunctions with an outer planet indicate oppositions to Earth. But the Sun-Earth dynamic works in such harmonic unison: exactly when our embodied Earth journey with another planet reaches a point of needing to find our own ground and stand up to forces that have control over us — literally or metaphorically — is exactly when we crystallize an archetypal quality that helps us claim that ground.
With Saturn opposing the Earth, this week brings a moment of finding the inner strength and soul's urging to stand up to forces that seek to build their authority on our backs. With Aries now infused in our inner Father archetype, we find boldness in our Libran (diplomatic, relational, legal) depths, where Earth is, to confront aggressive authority. We find justice, karma, and fairness to stand upon — and use our own assertive authority to shield ourselves and claim our own ground.

Sun in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius (5° 06’)
Our archetype of Rebel Power is incubating something this season. We tap into moments of inspiration, subtle guidance, and new understandings around what it means to be a force for humanity.
In relation to Earth and our more embodied, experiential stories, a trine is also taking place — and in our journey to understand power returning to the people, we each may find a more sacred and resonant place to offer our gifts into the collective reclamation of power from those who hoard and abuse it against humanity (the shadow aspects of Pluto (vampire) in Aquarius, such as war criminals, mass destruction as in genocides, or wealth gaps that oppress and drain humanity of its life and energy).

Venus conjunct Chiron in Aries (25° 25’)
Venus, in her own Heroine's Journey, is finding her heart — and by going deeper within to source love from within rather than without, she is rising. But this week, as our voice and self-worth meet Chiron, an old wound around being assertive, bold, and authentic in our worth is reopened. Stay with your heart, and this reopened wound will end up being cleansed more deeply and understood from a richer place — which is ultimately a gift.
Because Chiron is the centaur that bridges us from Saturn (the constructs we build) to Uranus (the rule-breaker that liberates us), this wound — beyond Aries assertiveness — may have to do with where we have shunned society and where it has shunned us. Seek understanding around the independence you are trying to shake into being, which may be making you or others nervous or unsettled.

Saturn in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius (5° 09’)
This is one of the two highlighted aspects of spring that I go in depth on in my quarterly content: Highlights of Spring 2026 | Collective Flowering
This transit is in effect for around a month, but Saturday marks its exact point of contact. It is significant — part of a story that began at the start of 2020 with Covid and the world grinding to a halt, when these two planets seeded a journey in the sign of Capricorn.
