The Energy of Spring 2025 | Wise New Skins

Despite the personal planets getting a slow start this spring, our solar energies are in full reboot mode—vitality, creative juices, and our ability to give our energy is strong. If you were to look at the draconic zodiac (a shifting zodiac based on the nodes and eclipses), every sign is almost exactly aligned with itself. Every spring sign (Aries, Taurus, and Gemini) is in its home tone and rebooting in our lives.

I love that we’ve just entered the Chinese Snake Year, an animal that continually sheds skin and holds symbolism around renewal to match a sense of a reboot in the fresh spring air. What skin are you shedding and what new skin is surfacing? Are you feeling both fragile and resilient? Refreshed and vulnerable? Thin and thick-skinned?

Renewal sounds enlivening and great, yes? It can be, but the shedding process can also feel violent, like a wrecking ball being taken to the old world, making way for a new surface. Usually at the reboot phase, the wrecking ball energy is intentional. Don’t be afraid to wipe something old away if you already know its time has passed, but don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. Be intentional and clear about what is and isn’t working, hence what should and shouldn’t go.

As the dust settles, the Snake Year will help us to integrate the lessons we’ve learned, make decisions based on experience, and approach new paths with wisdom and sensual instinct. In a 9 numerological year, there is a double dose of wisdom. Seek others who hold wisdom. Listen to those who seem plugged into the greater, more universal view of life. We can learn from those with broad perspectives, especially as we awaken with fresh trajectories.

When I think about spring’s solar journey, I imagine a snake with new iridescent skin wrapping around a bright poppy flower, with colorful sunrise colors in the background. Its energetics are paradoxical—new and wise, known and unknown, secretive and obvious.

TAROT SYMBOLISM FOR THE Spring SOLAR SEASONS

Radiant Wilds Tarot

ARIES SEASON (MARCH 20 - April 19) | THE EMPEROR

  • The Emperor, often depicted in tarot as austere and solitary, knows how to give order to life. He can be militant and strict, but he can get our ducks in a row and clarify direction, objectives, and motivation. What is your inner Emperor asking you to give order to in your life? Use this season to get the dirty work done.

    • With the Earth in Libra this season, find soothing and grounding through relationships, empathy, and inner peace.

TAURUS SEASON (APRIL 19 - MAY 20) | THE EMPRESS

  • A fertile, embodied, and creative force, the Empress can help us to beautify life. She can help us feel deserving of the best and tap into a receptive capability. Channel your inner Empress to feel more sensitive to the creative urges in, and around, you. Boost your self-worth and voice.

    • With the Earth in Scorpio this season, find soothing and grounding through intimacy, shared resources, and precision.

GEMINI SEASON (MAY 20 - JUNE 20) | THE LOVERS

  • The Lovers represent decisions needing to be made. An image of two individuals entwined conjures something about soul mates. We are asked to recognize what’s opposite to us, yet highly attractive. This season asks us to use our higher mind to help merge the inner tensions of our yin and yang duality. When aligned with our higher self, integrating what feels other, but wanted, elevates inner peace—inner unity that leads to soul connections.

    • With the Earth in Sagittarius this season, find soothing and grounding through storytelling, foreign travel, and philosophy.

MERCURY, VENUS & MARS

springtime with the Personal Planets

MERCURY (the Messenger; the Mover & Shaker) | A Slow Start Feeds Turbo-Charged Pollination

Through April 26th: Connection is a little sleepy (and wonky) as we start spring. With our planet of movement in retrograde through April 7th, reversed into dreamy Pisces through April 15th, and in post-retrograde hangover until April 26th, the motor of spring could feel a little slow to get going. Let your mind and ideas meander in early spring. Leave space for inspiration and dreams to incubate with new mental concepts.

April 26 - May 10: Once our pollinator planet gets through an initial haze, things will pick up with a turbo pack strapped

to Mercury’s back. From April 26th - May 10th, impulsive ideas and passionate communication will bring some needed brightness to our minds. Do watch self-centered communication and confrontation—along with mental passion and movement can come mental collisions.

May 10 - May 25: Into Taurus, our sign of pleasure, Mercury will settle our minds and movements into a more natural rhythm. Body language, connecting with others over delicious food, and brainstorming next to a garden are all ways to ground your mind and come into valuable ideas or ideas around how to mold life to be more beautiful. Taurus tends to polarize things, so watch black-and-white thinking or harsh value judgments.

May 25 - June 8: As our messenger planet moves into one of its home signs, Gemini, get ready for high-octane socializing. This is an amazing time to brainstorm new possibilities, meet new people, learn new things, and generally fill your mind with color and liveliness. Gather information, disperse information, and see all sorts of pathways open up. Mental tensions may arise, but stay lighthearted and know that all of the connective energy is helping to work those tensions out.

June 8 - 26: With a move into Cancer, our sign of soul, it’s time to give your mind a time out. Allow daydreaming to connect your mind to your inner world. Let your inner world inform you about the recently created pathways and options that are sticking. Daydreaming helps your mind release tensions and plug into a nourishing flow. A flow where your mind and ideas start to ground, pull together, and stabilize a more mature direction. Find greater mental radiance as your mind gets more specific and defined from the inside out.

VENUS (the Lover; the Designer) | Taking Off Our Rose-Colored Glasses

Until April 30th: Venus (ruling affection and beautifying life) is sleepy as she enters spring. In retrograde until April 12th, our lover archetype is learning that she is wearing rose-colored glasses around something. There will be glimpses of our sense of Self, independence, and passion that aren’t quite right. Something has become brittle. And yet, as Venus reverses into Pisces on March 29th, we may choose to keep those rosy glasses on. That’s okay. Venus loves being in dreamy Pisces, so let the part of you that adores ethereal dreams be lost in the mist for a time.

April 30 - June 6: Once Venus moves back into Aries, the sign she seeded a new heroine’s journey in a few weeks ago, the rose-colored glasses will come off. If you feel righteous anger during this period, speak it. It’s time to take up space as yourself and to feel loved for your authentic self. Do things that enhance how you love yourself—affirmations, pampering yourself, making yourself heard, being radically you with no effs given. Adore what is bold, fierce, and assertive in you.

June 6 - July 4: Moving into Taurus, some of our goddess fire will ground. In one of her home signs, Venus will help us to create beauty in our material lives, speak up about a deserved raise or our worth, and refresh our beauty regimens. It’s all about personal pleasure during this time. Let your 5 earthy senses speak to and for you. Let yourself indulge in all that the material realm has to offer. Show kindness and receive kindness.

MARS (the Warrior; the Guard) | Protecting the Soul

Until April 18th: Mars has recently come out of a retrograde cycle and is getting its feet under itself, literally in the sign of our foundations, Cancer. Mars has been in and out of Cancer since early September (due to rx). There has been a lot of aggression, action, and posturing around issues related to security and safety. While we all plug into what it means to fight for nourishment, women, and security, it’s become clear, on a national and global level, that what feels safe to one may feel terrifying to another. While Mars is finally getting ready to move on, a new 2-year Hero’s Journey was seeded

in Cancer, making security and foundations a theme until February 2027. In these last few weeks of Mars in Cancer, get to know what kind of security and safety you fight for, and who and what you want to protect and nourish. Are you the person who opens your door to friends, neighbors, and strangers? Where do your boundaries extend when it comes to care and protection? We learn a lot about support systems through Cancer, and where we get taken advantage of. Exchanges DO NOT need to be equal in support systems, but reciprocity should be felt, even if it is simply gratitude. We will all learn a lot in the next 2-years about how we fight for and bring order to all things Cancer.

April 18 - June 17: With a move to Leo, take leadership action, creative action, and heartfelt action. Mars in Leo can be the general who is all ego and a bit cruel or a leader connected to heart, bringing unity and coherence to the task at hand. We can use Mars in Leo to bring order to victorious strategies, inspire action toward unity, be assertive in warmth, and help others see the light. This is the physical trainer who motivates versus degrades. What does your heart want? Go and get it! Accept the challenges and become stronger.

IN SUMMARY

Enjoy fresh notes even with some wreckage being cleared. Test out new skins without needing to do or be anything specific out of the gate. There are many things in incubation. Give them space. By May, greater clarity, determination, and fierceness will come into full color. Even with more specificity and clarity, be open to experimentation, trying things on for size, and not fully committing to any one way, but rather to the possibilities being connected and vibrancy starting to rise. As we get into June, start committing to more specific plans of action, to longer-term agendas, and higher knowings that hit you correctly in your gut.

A different world is appearing before our eyes. There is an impulse in the air to charge head-first into the action. Be okay with a few falls along the way. Be okay with a few bruises and bumps. We are resilient and vulnerable in our new skins. We are wise from what we’ve been through in the past eight (numerological) years and naive in what’s to come.
