A Week of Observing Trust
October 20 - 26, 2026
While we shift quite early in the week to Scorpio Season, our yearly Libra New Moon also kicks in at the tail end of its season. In a solar sense, we will move from themes of seeking justice, harmony, and balance, to themes of investigation, psyche, and witnessing what's stuck starting on Wednesday night. In a lunar sense, it's not so straightforward.
I like to track lunar themes from new moon to new moon, with the sign the new moon happens in containing the theme of the 29-day lunar journey. To backtrack a little, our last new moon was in the last degree of Virgo and even though the sun moved on less than a day after that seeding point to a new energy, our reflections, moods, and intuitions have still been tracking through a Virgo lens—a little bit analytical, reflecting and feeling things about organization, and responding to life with a slightly critical undertone, but also a longing to strip away what's no longer serving our emotional wellbeing.
On Tuesday morning, just a day and a half before we move to solar themes of creation and will directed toward more intensity, our emotions start to center in Libra themes of justice, balance, and harmony. This also puts us into a new moon week that comes with initial pressures around balance and negotiating what we need to face, accept, package, and where cooperation is needed. We start to further and further detach from things more personal to a state of observing the greater currents and flow of life. Through a Libra lunar lens, it could be a week where we start to better observe who and what we trust and resonate with, and where we've ourselves been trustworthy and fair, or not. We have a chance to see the greater picture of cause and effect—karma—that we need to face.
In overlaying the shift in both solar and lunar landscapes, we are moving from a season of reaching and creating with elegance, while feeling and responding with edits and organizing, to a season of reaching and creating with investigation and strategy, while feeling and responding with a sense of fairness and compromise. All of this under a new moon week of detaching to see the greater patterns at play.
Observe what you trust, what you want to let closer in, what messes and blocks you need to deal with under the neat surface of things, and what outside help you might need to allow in.
The Headline Transits
Libra New Moon (Tuesday October 21st, 6:25 am)
This new moon brings in a 29-day cycle of reflecting on trust, peace, and your aesthetic longings. It is also a time to step up to pressures and responsibilities that seem to be chasing you. This will build character and help to ignite new intentions into the yearly Libra seed in your life. What would you like to unfurl in your life that makes things feel more balanced, fair, and peaceful? What vision can you fix your eye on around fairness and bridge-building?
Neptune Rx Returns to Pisces (Tuesday October 22nd, 3:50 am)
This is one of the headline stories of 2025 and into 2026 as any slow moving planet moving in and out of a sign makes waves in culture and society. I've already written about this both in the Yealry Overview and the Quarterly Overview. Head to either, or both, of these to learn what we might expect from our planet of illusion, dreams, and art returning to Pisces to end an 14-year transit through its own sign of mysticism, endings, and compassion.
Scorpio Season (Wednesday October 22nd, 9:50 pm)
We welcome what I consider to be our most feminine season of the year, with the only feminine sign in the quarter of the year that moves toward our longest night. Scorpio is the witch, the alchemist, and the occultist. In modern roles, it can rule investors, surgeons, psychologists, politicians, and strategists. One obvious way to describe Scorpio is the energy that handles and channels shared resources, and is also the energy that is most corruptible. This is why I have long felt that those with healthy feminine intensity should be the ones holding the power behind the throne—those creating government budgets, allocating resources, and determining taxes and financial regulation. When masculine energy (not necessarily men) gets too involved in this energy it tries to control and hoard, and often creates traumatizing outcomes. I would love to see government filled with more women and/or anyone who brings a communal-oriented lens to determining how resources are shared and allocated—who sees that the condition of the least empowered says more about the depth of health of a society than anything else.
Sun square Pluto (Thursday October 24th, 7:24 am)
While the Sun has an approaching square with Pluto this week, showing some karma coming in around how we've archetypally been incorporating power into our personalities, I also always read for Earth at sun aspects, showing our more embodied journeys. This creates a separating square between Earth and Pluto, with new directions needing to be taken on our road to empowerment. What different spark is asking you to exit one road to enter a new path? What is newly organizing around your sense of power, or that which you deem as powerful? What has recently fallen apart or come to a natural close around what's previously felt empowering? The ways in which we need and meet each other in entanglements, vulnerability, and mergers is very newly shifting in the past year with Pluto now in Aquarius.
I like to think of the Earth-Pluto journey like that of the Alchemist's journey. What are you newly feeling called to alchemize, transmute, or transform (maybe through investigation, mergers, or dealing with wealth/debt in new ways)? And how can the Sun-Pluto archetypal/causal energy of being a phoenix of rebirth for humanity or progress (Pluto in Aquarius) bring an acceptance of new understandings, hence motives, around power and how you use it? Accept a more open-minded, innovative power in order to enter a new pathway of empowering yourself over the coming 9 months.
