A Week of Mystical darkness
October 27 - November 2, 2025
Autumns’s Echoes
As we start this Scorpio Season week, we glide fluidly through deep, murky waters at the end of a new moon week. The waxing crescent moon is like winter’s slowly growing daylight, with new stirrings underfoot but not yet in tangible reality. Or like twilight when the sun has yet risen, but a soft gloam inspires dreams about what might come. It has spacious energy. It has ethereal magic. It sounds like a deep echo from another world.
In Scorpio Season’s waxing crescent phase, we walk in the liminal space of darkness and death. There is something soft in the haunting darkness. The angelic and the dark depths mingle in strange ways—synchronicities that disarm and leave our vulnerability bare. With Capricorn as this moon, we may see into the skeletal structure of things if we allow the current of surrender to sweep us up. What bones will we allow to melt and move on? What structures and hierarchies are ready to merge back with the primordial?
By the time we wake on Wednesday, we will have entered the first quarter moon week of our haunted season of echoes. Notice what no longer works that once worked. What new conditions, impulses, and sparks are helping you to respond with fresh takes? How does this relate to power dynamics and your psyche? To what haunts you? With Aquarius ruling the first quarter moon through early Friday morning, the spring sunrise of Scorpio Season lives under a shattering quality. Let life surprise you. Notice collective movements that awaken something enlivening in your veins.
As the moon grows in reflective light, Pisces holds court over the early waxing gibbous moon. Halloween and Day of the Dead, Friday and Saturday, we walk with the dead to honor the beauty of their spirits. To forgive past grievances and allow nature to communicate between realms. Offer the dead a mystical poem you adore and ask for compassionate guidance around voice and self-worth. They are listening in an especially thinned veil with Pisces as the moon and the waxing gibbous phase as adoring.
Sunday brings us to the later waxing gibbous moon and Aries. With great openings the week-long between the dead, the angelic, nature, spirits, and collectives, it’s time for the moon phase of communicative mood to reconnect us with ourselves. What’s in your own psyche? Be curious about self-exploration. Write a short memoir about your past year or so. Reflect on personal passions and blocks. Gather information that gives you more insight into your personal workings. Do you know your Myers-Briggs personality type, your Enneagram, your astrology chart, your numerology? What makes you tick? Be curious and seek information that cracks new codes of understanding.
Lunar Cycle Reflections
While moon phases can help us tap into the ebb and flow of the solar season, the moon, outside of its ties with the Sun, has its own reflective cycle, more about memory and recognition. Headline Transits
Mercury enters Sagittarius, October 29th (5:02 am MT)
Already in pre-retrograde shadow, I will put out a disclaimer that now is not the time to conceive of new ideas, sign contracts, make big purchases, or schedule/book appointments/tickets/reservations. Of course, we can’t put life on hold, and it’s not the end of the world. Just expect little hiccups around details planned now—delays, revisions, miscommunications, detours. It’s not the end of the world, and it doesn’t mean plans made now are all for not. Just roll with the back and forths that iron out any glitches.
What pre-shadow and retrograde are great for is revisions, edits, refinements, feedback, and sharing what’s been going on with you or ideas you’ve already put some energy into.
As Mercury moves into Sagittarius on Wednesday morning, our connectivity and minds will move from Scorpio’s investigation and mystery to expansion and optimism. Share and refine your philosophies, stories, and beliefs. Mercury Opposed Uranus, October 29th (1:35 pm MT)
A tug of war ensues on Wednesday between the mind, seeking perspective and what is unknown, and a want for what we do know to feel more alive and exciting. While these opposing energies may feel at odds, they are just opposite sides of the same coin. The Sagittarius/Gemini axis is about knowledge. Let your mind’s desire to push outside of its known boxes help you to see the bigger picture and bring perspective to Uranus’ drive to revolutionize your local life. What new concepts and wisdom from other places can bring insight into new and unusual ways of shaking up what’s become stale in your immediate life?
Mercury and Uranus last met in Taurus. This is where they set their most recent combined objective. Note how both sides of this push-pull are fostering an agenda to liberate your mind’s sense of beauty and value.
Venus Square Jupiter, November 2nd (5:16 pm MT)
A separating square between Venus and Jupiter suggests that new impulses may activate around equitable perspectives and beautiful principles. These planets last met in Cancer (where Jupiter still remains), giving a signature to their combined agenda as one of soul, security, and home.
From Libra, Venus asks for fairness in our principles of soul. From Cancer, Jupiter is less concerned with what is fair and more concerned with emotion and intuition in our beliefs. We must find a way for the beauty of balance and reason to help direct emotional dogmas. Just because we believe xy & z in our depths doesn’t mean xy & z are what align in the depths of another.
What is the balanced and fair way to honor the beauty of each other’s deeply felt xy & z beliefs? How might our different beliefs reflect beautiful things back to each other that allow context and nuance to make our beliefs more elegant?
