Autumn & Libra Season Arrive | Eclipse Season Wanes

It’s been an eclipse season for the books. Virgo and Pisces don’t mess around. They are the editor and dissolver, the threshold to the ending/beginning of the zodiac and to the critical mid-point where separations often occur. The day the Sun crossed the south node (one of the two eclipse points), Charlie Kirk was assassinated, and another school shooting occurred.

I happened to be driving out of Provo Canyon from Sundance, hours after the assassination, blocks from UVU, where it happened (and where I rarely find myself). Masses of people were congregating on street corners with signs and flags. I must admit, I wasn’t familiar with Kirk. I didn’t know what to make of it all, other than the obvious—that an assassination is shocking, no matter the politics. Legacy media cowtowing to government meddling also reached into this eclipse season, indefinitely suspending Jimmy Kimmel for his commentary on Charlie Kirk (media and government are ruled by Pisces). Just a week or so later, Robert Redford, a legend in Utah (and globally) and founder of Sundance, passed away at his home in the area. An eclipse epicenter certainly seemed to be circling Provo Canyon.

As a Virgo myself, my own life has gone through some edits and refinements in the past month—luckily, nothing dramatic or life-changing. Edits that were needed knocked me around a bit, and now that I’ve accepted them, they feel like a welcome streamlining. Where are Virgo and Pisces in your chart? Do you have any planets there? What endings or edits have occurred in the past month for you?

As I write this, the Autumn Equinox just arrived along with a soothing rain storm. I talk a lot about the equinox as a portal to Libra Season and the feeling of an exhale. Immediately, I feel it. The Sun is starting to feel more oblique than direct, along with the days feeling noticeably shorter. There is a relaxed sigh around the pressure to jump up and get active at first light. I like a more relaxed feel to life, so this paradoxically brings me more to life. The softer days light me up.

Welcome, Libra Season & autumn, whole body and soul.

Highlighted Transits

Mars in Scorpio, September 22nd (1:55 am MT) - November 4th

The planet of action and assertion meets the sign of transformation and power. This is a time of initiating renovations, psychological work, investments, and investigations. Scorpio is ruled by Mars in traditional astrology, making it at home and eager to thrust us toward what empowers us.

Sun Opposed Neptune, September 23rd (6:53 am MT)

When a planet is in opposition to the Sun, it is also conjunct Earth, where, like a new moon, we make new intentions as we meet up close and personal with it. This will be the first of over a decade of yearly Neptune-Earth intentions in the sign of Aries. What inspiration and meaning do you want to connect with around order, assertiveness, and clear direction? What art can inspire more compassion in the aggressive nature of the world right now? Notice little inner sparks that speak to understanding you can create around bringing greater sensitivity to action and militant uniformity.

Mars Square Pluto, September 24th (3:51 am MT)

Squares create torque, which pushes new directions. There are also two kinds of squares—separating and approaching. This is an approaching square, meaning Mars (the slower of the two planets) is on its way back toward Pluto after a journey apart. From Scorpio, what clarity are you finding around powers that are trustworthy or not? What actions are feeling urgent in how you ask for greater fairness in shared resources? What strategy do you need to put in place to demand accountability around resources and humane progress? How are tech and innovative sectors making moves to consolidate power, and how can we legally take action?
