A Week of Beauty Beneath the surface
November 3 - 9, 2025
Grounding in Inner Beauty
Full moons in autumn are like quicksand—but in a hauntingly beautiful way. We already see life bare itself under the light of day—a light guiding us through the crevices and tunnels of the psyche. The underworld made conscious. The full moon takes us even deeper. What’s under the underworld?
I think of a scene in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. After falling through a trapdoor and into a dungeon, the kids land on Devil’s Snare—a vine that starts to entangle and trap them. The trick to loosening its grip is to relax (or shine light on it—witness it). The more we panic, choose to stay in the dark, and struggle against what’s in our underworld, the more it ensnares us. But when we relax and stay with those entangled tentacles—when we surrender to, and truly see, what they are—we somehow free ourselves to reach our deepest self.
This is how I imagine the Full Moon of Scorpio Season—going to the depths and roots of our underworld. Paradoxically, what lives beneath Scorpio Season’s psychological power cords is Taurus: beauty, self-worth, and pleasure—the very things that are easiest to tangle and abuse (by ourselves or others). If we take time to see what this moon wants to illuminate, we can loosen the strangleholds and detangle, with gentleness, whatever has us twisted up in our self-adoration. We can rediscover the inner foundations of what we value and where we find pleasure.
Relax—don’t panic—at what is illuminated. Beauty lies on the other side. When we know the depth of our personal worth, we can more clearly navigate the psychological dynamics of resource sharing and intimacy that Scorpio asks of us.
The Taurus Moon will hold us from Tuesday morning through Thursday morning, reaching peak fullness early Wednesday (Taurus Full Moon, November 5th at 6:19 am MT).
As the Moon rises out of Scorpio Season’s depths, Thursday through Sunday will help us find more courage, creativity, and purpose within our psyches—merging and investigating through the Gemini Moon’s curiosity and Cancer’s gentleness.
Lunar Cycle Reflections
While moon phases help us tap into the ebb and flow of the solar season, the Moon—outside its ties to the Sun—has its own reflective cycle, one more about memory and recognition. Headline Transits
Mars enters Sagittarius, November 4th (6:01 am MT)
As the ruler of Scorpio Season, this is a key planet to tune into right now. In Sagittarius, the surgical precision of Scorpio shifts toward sharing perspectives, philosophical and religious beliefs, narrative framing, and all things foreign.

Mars Opposed Uranus, November 4th (10:30 am MT)
Tuesday brings some drama as the planet currently playing the season’s protagonist faces off against Uranus in Gemini. Mars urges us to push out of our comfort zones as it enters Sagittarius, immediately meeting tension with Uranus—the planet of shock, revolution, and change. Uranus wants us to focus on our own neighborhoods and communities rather than seeking distant perspectives. The harmonizing compromise? Bring new insights back to your local circles. Stretch, but return home with broadened horizons to shatter what’s stale in your daily life.
Venus enters Scorpio, November 6th (3:39 pm MT)
Our archetype of beauty, love, and justice moves into alluring territory. What’s beautiful about transformation? What’s valuable about sharing? What’s seducing your heart toward merging? Look beneath the surface—not all that glitters is gold.
Urnaus Rx Re-Enters Taurus, November 7th (7:19 pm MT)
Uranus moves back into Taurus until next spring. This transit often correlates with authoritarian surges in history—one of my least favorites to study. For a deeper dive, see my reflections in the Yearly Overview and the Quarterly Headlines, as this marks a key turning point in the year.
Venus Square Pluto, November 7th (8:43 pm MT)
The last time Venus and Pluto met was last December, at the first degree of Aquarius. Mars opposed their conjunction from Leo, while Ceres joined in. In my framework, every aspect gains meaning from its seeding moment—the last conjunction.
Venus and Pluto in Aquarius seeded a transformation of our values toward innovation and collectivity. With Ceres involved, that transformation was meant to bring thoughtfulness around transforming our systems of value with more innovative threads. But Mars in Leo opposed this, wanting dominance over decentralization—a tension between kingship and democracy that still echoes through the storyline (on a side note, Mars in Leo opposed Pluto in Aquarius is entangled in quite a few story threads playing out at the moment, so this tension has been in the air all year, in many ways).
With the overarching storyline in mind, as Venus in Scorpio forms a returning square with Pluto in Aquarius, it’s time to claim what has grown and matured from their shared agenda. A lot is transforming in our values, with Pluto having only recently moved into Aquarius. In Capricorn, we wanted the status quo. Now, we are ready to shatter things in the way we transform our values.
Now, as Venus in Scorpio forms a returning square with Pluto in Aquarius, it’s time to claim what’s matured from their shared agenda. With Pluto freshly in Aquarius, our values are ready to shatter the old status quo. Returning squares often bring karmic reflection—cause and effect. Watch for what’s being tested, mirrored, or challenged to claim its worth. How is an inner or outer tyrant still creating tension as you (and we) assert innovative values around shared power?
Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius, November 9th (12:01 pm MT)
We’ve already been in the pre-shadow phase for a few weeks, but now full retrograde begins—a time to retrace our steps, rework plans, and rethink communications, contracts, and ideas. This retrograde belongs to the Mercury Journey of the Radiant Mind, seeded in Leo. So while Mercury currently moves through Sagittarius (and soon back to Scorpio), we’re reviewing themes around creativity, leadership, and joy.
What philosophical revisions help you reconnect heart and mind? How do your ideas need to expand to honor that connection? Are you taking yourself too seriously—or too lightly? What adventures could transform how your mind mingles with love: love of ideas, communities, or self-expression?
