April 21st - Belly of the Whale (rebirth stage and prep for trials and growth that are coming)
The womb of the world. It’s from this womb that we emerge, stand up, and take our first steps as the heroes that we truly are. Birth moment of the hero in examples below. End of Belly stage and start of Road of Trials stage.
Wonder Woman - Diana arguing against that they can’t save everyone in no man’s land and maybe it’s not the job they’re there to do, but it’s the job she is going to do. She sheds her cloak, climbs out of trench, steps on battle field, deflects bullet, and becomes Wonder Woman—knows her mission—confidnet about who she is, what her capabilities are, and she is going to win the day.
Matrix - at end, Neo has faced 3 agents but still unsure if he’s the hero. Essentially dead, but Trinity, true companion, talks him through and believes strongly enough that he believes. He gets up and becomes powerful. The walls rippling symbolic of the world being too small for him.
Iron Man - Tony Stark in trying suit for first time. Need it soon, but scientists want more diagnostics. He says sometimes you have to run before you can walk and charges into flight with it, becoming Iron Man/Hero.
All the same scene and different types of hero - the compassionate hero/wonder woman, the reluctant hero/neo, the arrogant hero/Tony Stark aims higher than before and above own expectations and glories in all he is capable of.
After reborn, you have to grow up
Old and worn out things will be cut away—cast stuff off and get rid of things. A time to stop destructive behaviors and tell others you need time to yourself.
Have crossed the threshold into a new world of being.
What to do, where to go. Have to learn when to take control and when to relinquish control—accept limitations. If over controlling will have to wait for whale to spit us out when good and ready. If need to be more assertive, need to light a fire that forces it to spit us out. It’s time to take responsibility for actions and clean up your room. Cobra Kai, down and out man, blaming all their problems on their past, learns that path to becoming a man starts by literally cleaning up apartment. Starting on a path of order can be that simple for chaotic individuals. Have to stand up and learn to become an adult. forcefully create some order in life and get the whale of chaos to sneeze you out so you can continue on your path to wholeness.
Can’t fight way out of this stage or force it to be what you want it to be. Have to develop into a human being that can be birthed anew into the world. The more you fight it and try to make it what you want, the longer the whale will hang onto you. You took the plunge over the threshold, but life is ultimately in control. For whale to release you into the new and wider world, generally have to do something or act in a way counter intuitive to your nature. We can choose to remain unformed, incomplete being vs treking toward our full potential—responding to the call of life and living. Change yourself and then you can change your world. Rebirth into something better than you were before.
June 26th - Road of Trials
Once Hero steps up as the hero (see examples above), this launches them onto the road of trials, to become who they are meant to be. The proving ground, and it is here that you find out who your true friends are.
Unknow what you will face. But will fight. Enemies within you will try to trip you up every step of the way—parts of you that you don’t want to change, and the parts you don’t like.
Rest points along the way. Take your time and enjoy moments of victory. Push yourself but know limits.

Your time to shine - show off what you can do. Make everyone wonder what you are up to. Marvel at your real self coming to light. Revel in your new freedom. Take on inner dragons and demons. They may rise against you, 10,000 against 1, but you will stand your ground and triumph, because you are the hero and will go down swinging rather than live an empty existence. At end of road, after dust settles, you will stand triumphant, free, and ready to meet with the goddess.
September 23rd - Meet the Divine within You
JAG - the longest road is from the head to the heart, and that’s where the journey starts. Head knowledge of
where you meet the yin to your yang or vice versa - your opposite. Arawyn/Arragorn, Mary and the Princess, Frodo. andGaladriel, Sam and Gollum
A more difficult path ahead - a darker path.
At time may seem easy/have strength, but other times, treacherous, unknow, and face foes you don’t feel powerful enough to take down.
Must greet and embrace and begin process of balancing opposing nature - masculine and feminine.
If more feminine, will meet masculine and learn to embrace you masculine. or other way around.
to bring opposing sides into balance - sex. Physcial and spiritual entwining of masculine nd feminine. not needed for pleasure, but for something higher. symbolic union of whole and complete individual. Energy is the focus here - from within you.
Walking the line between where yin and yang meet - order and chaos, light and shadow, fire and ice. Work hard to achieve balance and not let one or the other dominate.
The middle way. Meeting and integrating the opposing energy you need in you life. Open self up to living a fuller existence.
Point of heroes journey is living a fuller existence. The goddess knows this and is why warns you that journey is about to get more difficult. Must go deeper to achieve goals and gain deeper prize.
Will you go deeper and take more difficult path ahead, or give in to temptation and abandon quest.
virgin mary - savior is what’s already within us that we can birth and save ourselves.
The TEMPTATION - (or woman as temptress as the outdated title, such as in King Arthur - desire of body to pull hero away from quest). The divine and trickster, two faces of same being.
Face yourself and stop blaming others for how your life has turned out (Carrie Coon’s monologue in White Lotus). What is meaningful to ME.
They pollute when they can clean (blaming/finger pointing - true but that’s not enough). Once know truth, what then? Fight someone else’s war? Can get sucked in and stuck here. Better version - I can keep the Earth clean.
Stop laying blame (even toward self) and take responsibility. Own past actions, accept, own, move on. May be entitled to finger-point. Rick in White Lotus - the love he’s always wanted was right in front of him, but he chose the temptation to blame and inadvertently killed the love he could’ve had. Don’t let past control everything we do in future.
Accountable for own actions the led up to or away from. Can’t control dips of rollercoaster. Can control how we cat/react and recover. It’s not about forgiveness, except that it helps US move on.
Pointing fingers and laying blame is easy and lazy. Distraction from taking a look at your own flaws. It’s a knife’s edge to walk.
