The world is Alive with new inspiration and powerful alignments in 2026

2026 opens a fresh chapter: a 1 Numerological Year, igniting new beginnings, independent initiative, and pioneering momentum. Like a Fire Horse under a hot afternoon sun, this year carries bold energy, adventurous optimism, and a desire to break free from old molds.

The cosmos mirrors this call for courage and creativity. Early degrees of Air and Fire in the outer planets—Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto—line up in a stabilizing cradle formation in July, offering a rare alignment for visionary breakthroughs, inventive thinking, and collective progress. At the same time, many personal planets and new moon seeds are anchored in water energy, bringing emotional depth, intuition, and relational insight to balance bold action with reflection.

As the year unfolds, we are invited to dream, explore, and act in harmony, blending inspiration with action, depth with courage, and independence with connection. The Fire Horse energy asks us to step forward boldly, take playful risks, and lead with authenticity—while the planets provide guidance, opportunity, and support along the way (along with a strange new consciousness bubbling up).

1 Numerological Year and the Chinese Fire Horse

From a 9 Year to a 1 Year

2026 starts us into a new 9-year numerological cycle, with the number 1 ruling the vibration (2+0+2+6 = 10 ; 1+0 - 1).There is a lot that we’ve all been through these past 9 years, and hopefully wisdom that we can anchor in and use to clear some slates and move forward with new ideas and objectives.

1 Numerological Year and the Chinese Fire Horse

The main thing that trips me up is whether the 1 will give us all a bit more independent thinking and acting, or if it will add to the aggression that’s already pronounced. My feeling is that it will be a bit of both. There may be aggressive energy in the air, but from a more independent (versus group-think), pioneering mode—a passionate desire to forge new paths in our lives.

From Fire Snake to Fire Horse

The fire element was alive and kicking last year, but in yin form, it did feel a bit like an undercurrent. I had hoped that the snake’s wisdom mixed with the 9-year’s wisdom would bring some softening, but I think the fire element (along with a lot of other astrology) got the best of things. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t wisdom to be integrated in looking back over the past 9-year cycle. What do you do when the world you knew changes right under your feet? What have we woken up to that we took for granted or grew complacent about?

As we move into a yang fire year, mixed with a 1 year, it does feel hot to me. Add the horse in, and we have an independent horse under a hot afternoon desert sun, charging forward with strength, headiness, and a bit of showmanship. Horses love freedom as does the 1-year. I was born in a horse year (although under the Earth influence) and know many a horse with a 1 life path. This energy does act quite independently. Add in some fire and we might have some rogue energies, departing from the expected or group sentiment, and for good or bad, following very independent decisions and actions.

Horses do bring a sense of humor that I feel has been missing for many years. It is optimistic, which we need right now. It is social, and despite the independent 1 year, I think this sociality could bring some social bridge-building. Maybe in play, sports, movement, wit, communication, and adventure, things the horse loves, we remember how to come together and see each other as humans. Fire brings some obsessiveness, a bit of impulsiveness, excesses, but also artistry.

My hope for the 1 Fire Horse Year is for us to be pioneering movers and shakers (rather than horses pulling war chariots).

Eclipses | Pisces-Virgo Axis to Aquarius-Leo Axis

Seeds From Aries North Node Years

Although the North Node—the eclipse point of endings and beginnings—shifted out of Aries in January 2025, through September 2025, the new moons were still seeding intentions in Aries stages of each sign’s draconic chart (or the same sign in the draconic zodiac). When the North Node passes through Aries, it marks, in my view, the start of a new 19-year draconic cycle.

Aries as Militant New Order
As the first sign, Aries initiates cycles with militant clarity. Its energy can be bold, urgent, and at times, aggressive or war-like. This has colored the global atmosphere of recent years—aggressive takeovers, domination mindsets, and the rise of strongmen echoing this archetype. Each of us carries Aries somewhere in our chart, and during this nodal phase, that dimension of our lives has been lit up.

At the same time, I also see the alignment of the Tropical Zodiac and Draconic Zodiac as a seeding point, like a new moon or like sitting at the summit the way Capricorn does. It’s where we take our throne after returning from one journey, but hold a new seed that immediately creates hairline fractures to the construct that’s been created. At the summit, we have a view, giving us the ability to step back and make long-term plans. This, in storytelling terms, is like the Master of Two Worlds stage or the The (new) Ordinary World.

The summit/seed stage of a cycle, along with a 1st house/Aries-like energy, gives us leverage. We push against the stage to grow into the house—we push against the Caporicorn seed-like stage to assert ourselves in the world and grow in 1st house ways. To take our long-term plans and take action.

Shifting From Aries to Pisces–Taurus Seeds
Even though the North Node left Aries a year ago, the seeds planted during that time are still ripening and holding influence. But 2026 marks the turning point: the militant push for domination and “new order” begins to fade, making space for more Piscean seeds to take root. Pisces softens the edges with sensitivity, compassion, and mysticism.

Alongside this, Aries has shifted in the draconic chart into Taurus (every sign is now 1 sign ahead in the draconic zodiac), layering in themes of values, beauty, and morals, similar to Taurus and 2nd house energy. This brings focus to kindness, grounding, and embodiment—though it can still divide the world into allies and enemies. Together, the Pisces–Taurus influence of the new moon seeds opening this year promises to loosen the grip of domineering forces and invite more humane, heart-centered growth.

In storytelling terms, this moves us from the Ordinary World where hierarchies and those in power take their thrones, to The Call to Action, where the pressure of holding the established construct (seed shell) together starts to shatter as the new light inside the seed can no longer be contained. This is the rebel forces and collectives dreaming things that the established norms can’t compete with. The leverage we find here is the ability to break out of old values and enculturation to grow new values and enculturate in new 2nd house ways.

From Pisces–Virgo Axis to Aquarius–Leo Axis
On July 26/27, the North Node enters Aquarius, and the South Node moves into Leo. This new eclipse axis will begin surfacing shadows in progressive realms. Tech empires may face reckonings, AI could reveal distortions we must confront, and even non-profits may be scrutinized for their true energetic impact. We’re already seeing the airline industry falling apart, with Aquarius energy behind the north node. This will likely become more central to headlines this year, but seeds that are two signs forward in the draconic zodiac will not happen this year. We will be looking at the shadows of Aquarius, but not seeding new growth in the energy profile and stage of growth it aligns with until 2027.

On the Leo South Node, we will be asked to edit how we approach leadership, play, and teaching. With Pluto traveling close to the North Node for the next year and a half, we can expect themes of power, politics, and control to be pulled into deep shadow work.

Meanwhile, the Pisces–Virgo axis will not simply fade—it will be seeded with new vitality. Expect new directions in media, art, and institutions, alongside more refined approaches to lifestyle, well-being, and the delicate balance between work and rest.

Outer Planets | The Transpersonal Stories

The powerhouses of the zodiac take anywhere from seven to thirty years to traverse a single sign. This year, our transpersonal planets settle into new signs—Pluto anchored in last year, while Neptune and Uranus merely dipped a toe in before reversing. While 2025 offered many transitions, it was only a preview. This year, those shifts truly begin to take root as all three of these transpersonal planets nest into their new signs, bringing seismic changes that have already been bubbling.

Pluto in Aquarius

Pluto made its more permanent move into Aquarius last year, beginning to expose the stark gap between the common person and the elite. We can expect the masses to uproot this rot and attempt to bring more humane equity to the future of the collective.

Over the next two decades, Pluto will continue to amplify power in innovation, tech, science, and engineering. However, with many of Aquarius’s degrees sitting behind the North Node, 2026 will be a year of endings and shadows for Pluto. This transit will illuminate the underbelly of power in progress, new age shadows (hello, Burning Man disasters), and innovation power brokers.

Neptune from Pisces to Aries
Neptune, the zodiac’s dreamer, tentatively explored Aries in 2025 before retreating to its comfort zone in Pisces. On January 26, 2026, Neptune returns to Aries with more confidence. Is this a positive shift? Time will tell. Aries, the zodiac’s initiator, bulldozes what’s broken to make space for new passion and direction. Neptune, on the other hand, dwells in dreams and illusions. The collision of these energies may feel militant, impulsive, and even uncomfortable to our softer side—but sometimes the dreamer needs a push to act on their visions.

Since 2011, Neptune in Pisces has been somewhat unmoored in media and collective illusions. Aries may sharpen its focus, creating clarity—but with a risk of militancy and bullying in Neptune’s connection to media. Early hints emerged in 2025, when media figures like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel faced scrutiny with questions around freedom of speech and whether fascist-like pressures were influencing media decisions. My take is to consume less media in the coming years (especially if it cowers to political control), and cultivate independent thought.

Through 2039, expect fashion and art to evolve toward raw realism, uniformity, utility, and physicality. Historically, this transit has been linked to crusades and zealous religious fervor, so caution is warranted.

Uranus in Taurus to Gemini
Uranus has been drawing stark lines, galvanizing collective energy. In Taurus since 2018, it polarized groups around issues of value, wealth, body, and sexuality, often reinforcing authoritarian voices. Its brief dip into Gemini revealed cracks in these polarities—internal dissent, unexpected alliances, and more fluid group dynamics.

Back in Taurus until April 26, 2026, we may see entrenched positions resurface. But when Uranus moves fully into Gemini (April 26, 2026 – August 2032), polarization will begin to splinter. Gemini’s energy—youthful, clever, mischievous, and communicative—will introduce flexibility, humor, and inventive problem-solving into the collective. What once felt rigid will become playful and unpredictable, opening new pathways and dissolving dualities.

Uranus in Gemini may bring drama and catty energy, but also levity. The collective conversation becomes dynamic and multidimensional—the Mad Hatter stirring the pot of moral certainties and groupthink. Humor, intelligence, and creative expression will temper strong stances, helping society navigate complexity with wit and insight, hopefully shattering entrenched polarities.

The Innovators Triad: A Mythic Vision

All three of these transpersonal planets will form positive and fluid angles with one another this year—a good omen for delightful solutions.

Pluto, the Underworld Architect, digs deep beneath the structures of society in Aquarius, uncovering hidden hierarchies and power imbalances. Uranus, the Trickster Visionary, dances through Gemini, scattering sparks of insight, mischief, and radical freedom across networks, conversations, and communities. Their trine weaves a current of creative disruption, where transformation and ingenuity flow effortlessly together.

Neptune, the Dreamer, sextiles both from Aries, a wild stallion of inspiration and daring. It imbues the triangle with imagination and vision, urging action not just for change, but for awakening—to ideals, possibilities, and the unseen potential of human ingenuity.

Together, these forces form a minor grand triangle: power meets innovation, and inspiration animates both. The world is called to evolve with courage, wit, and vision—to dream boldly, break old molds, and build structures that serve the collective while honoring the freedom of the individual.

In July, Jupiter will also link into this powerful grouping from Leo, all at 4° of their new signs, especially on July 29th as the Sun joins Jupiter and the moon and Pallas join Pluto in a full moon opposition. The weeks around this date should be dynamic with both harmonies and tensions playing in orchestration. This isn’t technically in eclipse season, but right on the heels of, and leading into one.

Traditional Rulers | Our Personal Stories

Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, & Saturn

As we move through 2026, the traditional ruling planets—Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn—embark on intricate journeys that interweave seeding, growth, and maturation across the zodiac. This year’s planetary choreography carries a sense of intentionality, with each luminary and planet engaging in archetypal stories that guide collective and personal development.

Sun and Moon: The Dance of Dreams

The Sun and Moon trace a subtle, yet profound dance this year, seeding dreams in Pisces tones. These placements resonate with the North Node, where the zodiac asks us to balance intuition and innovation, compassion and vision. Each new moon this year falls one sign ahead in the Draconic Zodiac relative to the Tropical Zodiac, giving the seeds a Taurus or 2nd-house quality. Through this layering, new ideas are anchored not only in inspiration but also in tangible values, resources, and practical manifestation. Through the dance of Sun-Earth-Moon, we have a chance to shed old stories so that new values and beauty can form.

The year invites reflection on how we imagine new possibilities (Pisces) while structuring them for collective usefulness and personal growth. Each lunar cycle becomes a portal to align emotional resonance with pragmatic action, linking inner vision to outer expression.

Mercury: The Trickster in Water

After two years of seeding fire synodic journeys, Mercury now moves into a water cycle, beginning the year in a Scorpio synodic journey. This journey explores emotional depth, transformative insight, and the power of subtle influence. Mercury will continue through water sign synods: Pisces in early March, Cancer in early July, and returning to Scorpio in early November.

This year, Mercury’s movement deepens our capacity for reflection, strategic thinking, and the alchemy of communication. Secrets, mysteries, and hidden connections may surface, inviting careful discernment and skillful navigation in how we convey and interpret meaning.

Venus: The Heroine’s Journey

Venus continues her Heroine’s Journey, which began in Aries in the spring of 2025. Through 2026, she will navigate assertive, bold, and action-based landscapes that ignite a fiercer autonomy, completing this journey in late October before seeding a new path in Scorpio. We step from miaden to queen in how we handle autonomy and fierce independence.

The Scorpio cycle, which starts in the autumn, highlights empowerment through unity, precision of personal and relational expression, and the integration of passion and purpose. We will experience new cracks to our ‘perfect world’ of intimacy and entanglement as we end the year.

Venus calls us to honor both our desires and responsibilities this year, cultivating decisiveness, bravery, and intentionality in our relationships and creative projects.

Mars: The Hero’s Path

Mars moves through the second half of its Hero’s Journey that began in January 2025 in Cancer. In 2026, it travels from Capricorn through Virgo, gradually finding maturity in our individuation—our purpose and power. This journey emphasizes caring action, protective assertion, and the harmonization of aggression and nourishment. Mars’s movement in this journey teaches us to wield energy responsibly, aligning personal drive with the needs of the broader community.

Jupiter: Growth, Expansion, and Radiance

Jupiter begins the year, seeding a Cancer journey in early January, emphasizing emotional intelligence, care, and nurturing in how we explore and broaden life. By June 30th, Jupiter moves into Leo, shifting focus to self-expression, creative vision, and the expansion of personal influence. This dual movement encourages balancing inner cultivation with the courage to step into the spotlight and inspire others.

Saturn: Foundations and Authority

Saturn continues the journey it seeded in Pisces on September 21, 2025, integrating complexity and compassion into our discipline and responsibility. On February 13, 2026, Saturn moves into Aries, signaling the start of a new initiative and calling for strategic assertion and leadership. A new journey calls on October 4, 2026, seeding growth to our focus and dedication through Aries’s personal power, pioneering boldness, militant order, and constructive influence.

Conclusion

2026 emerges as a year of layered growth, bridging inspiration with tangible action, reflection with expansion, and personal vision with collective responsibility. The Sun and Moon invite dreaming and cultivating, Mercury guides insight and communication, Venus models relational boldness, Mars embodies caring action, Jupiter expands our inner scope and heart’s courage, and Saturn grounds us in complex discipline and assertive authority.

With a lot of water energy infused in the missions of the ruling planets this year, we are ready to go under the surface of life, find flow, and connect with a less resistant way of moving life.

Major Transits | Collective Dynamism

Saturn-Neptune Conjunction in Aries (February 20th)

The Saturn–Neptune conjunction in Aries is a rare alignment, occurring roughly once every 36 years. The last conjunction coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall, marking a profound shift in collective structures and the dissolution of old boundaries.

In 2026, this conjunction invites a similar reordering of authority, ideals, and personal initiative. Saturn brings structure, discipline, and accountability, while Neptune dissolves illusions, inspiring vision, compassion, and imaginative reform. Together in Aries, the energy focuses on courageous new beginnings—bold steps toward innovation, ethical leadership, and principled action—but not without the need to discern dreams from delusions.

This alignment signals a moment to rebuild systems, both personal and societal, with clarity, creativity, and integrity. It asks: where are our structures outdated, and where can imagination guide new forms of initiative and courage?

Saturn in Aries sextiles Pluto in Aquarius (March 28th)

The late March sextile between Saturn in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius is a moment of constructive, transformative energy—a gentle yet potent echo of their intense 2020 conjunction in Capricorn, when the world faced the weight of Covid and global pause. Unlike the pressure and lockdown of that earlier alignment, the sextile offers guidance and support, like a Supernatural Guide in the Hero’s Journey: subtle, wise, and empowering rather than overwhelming.

Saturn brings focus, discipline, and the courage to take measured action, while Pluto fosters deep transformation, uncovering hidden potential in systems, communities, and personal structures. Together, in this flowing aspect, they allow you to navigate challenges with clarity, restructure your life or projects with long-term vision, and integrate lessons from past crises.

This sextile invites alignment between inner purpose and outer change. It asks: how can we act with responsibility while embracing transformation? Where can discipline meet evolution to create empowered, meaningful progress? The answer emerges through steady, intentional steps guided by insight and courage—much like a hero receiving the counsel of a wise, unseen mentor.

Uranus in Gemini sextile Neptune in Aries (July 15th)

Uranus in Gemini sextiles Neptune in Aries in the latter half of 2026 (and extending into 2027), is a rare, generational alignment, occurring only twice every 172 years. Historically, their 1993 conjunction in Capricorn marked the birth of the internet and the digital revolution, a moment of profound technological and spiritual awakening.

This separating sextile carries a similar energy, but in a subtler, guiding form—like meeting the Supernatural Guide in the Hero’s Journey. It’s a bridge between visionary insight and practical application: Uranus sparks inventive ideas, curiosity, and collective ingenuity, while Neptune lends imagination, intuition, and the ability to see beyond the obvious.

Together, they encourage spiritual and cultural progress, fostering breakthroughs that are both inspired and actionable. Where their past conjunctions unleashed new paradigms, this sextile invites integration: a moment to align innovation with higher purpose, intuition with experimentation, and individuality with community insight. It’s an invitation to act with vision, guided by inner clarity, as new paths of awareness and invention emerge.

The mystical phase represented by this aspect and the nature of these two planets combined, does tend to bring new and unusual consciousness to humanity. I’ll say a bit more about that in the quarterly overview of Summer.

Uranus conjunct Mars in Gemini (July 4th, 2026 - 2:08 am EST)

The US, in particular, has a profound relationship with this conjunction in Gemini. My take on why there is supercharged energy relates to the US birth chart. No matter which version you use, the day and year are the same, with Mars and Uranus conjunct in Gemini in its DNA. The particular US chart I have recently switched to (the Evangeline Adams version), Gemini is the US rising sign, hence the first house of agenda, initiative, core Self, and motivation. I think the history with this transit in the US strengthens my suspicions about this early morning chart being the right one, as a 1st house trigger would align with the wealth of history related to this transit.

For those who are intrigued and want to deep-dive into the matter, there is a 4-hour podcast episode covering a ton of research into it all: The Astrology Podcast. To pique your interest, here is a list of US historic events around this transit:

1776: Signing of the Declaration of Independence (hence this transit being in the US DNA)

1782: Revolutionary War peace talks begin

1861: Civil War begins

1865: The House abolishes slavery

1865: Civil War ends

1945: Atomic Bombing in Japan/WWII ends

1992: Cold War ends

As you can see, it’s a mixed bag of positive steps forward and difficult events. What is core is passion-fueled shakeups. The astrology surrounding the transit tends to have influence over which way the wind blows. Looking at the timing for the US (DC or EST time), this conjunction will be in the 2nd house with a Taurus rising. There is value at the core of what this stirs up. Uranus is part of a cradle aspect pattern throughout the year, involved in protecting and birthing something new. Mars will be in conjunction with Uranus during this innovative time, with Pluto, Jupiter, and Neptune all forming positive aspects with Uranus. This makes me hopeful that Mars’s sometimes hotheaded reactions will be tempered and brought into something bigger, weaving in a bit of wise counsel to its impulsive reactions. In the draconic zodiac, Mars and Uranus will be in Cancer, giving more depth and interiority to Gemini’s sometimes fickle nature.

I don’t want to say outright that I feel good about this transit. It has a history of violent events igniting and resolving, but I do think there will be an effort to cultivate maturity, or at least strive for it. Uranus and Mars conjunct in the US 1st house, in my opinion, has astrong link to our interest in military innovation. We may have to face things around our gun laws, around martial law, around the militarization of police, or scary weapon innovations. In the end, I think we will ask things like ‘What is it worth?’ and ‘Are we mature enough to handle this properly?’ regarding whatever comes up.

Uranus in Gemini trine Pluto in Aquarius (July 2026)

This is a time when your mind opens to bold, visionary ideas that can reshape how you connect, communicate, and collaborate. Uranus in Gemini ignites curiosity, inventive thinking, and fresh ways of sharing knowledge, while Pluto in Aquarius channels deep transformation in social systems, technology, and collective structures. Together, they create a supportive flow that allows you to release old patterns, embrace innovation, and find power in alignment with progressive change.

Individually, this transit encourages you to:

  • Step into new ways of thinking and sharing ideas.

  • Let go of rigid structures that no longer serve your growth.

  • Experiment with technology, networking, or collaborative projects that feel ahead of their time.

  • Align your personal ambitions with collective progress, finding empowerment in community transformation.

Think of this as a “visionary breakthrough” period—a rare chance to reimagine the future without the friction of past resistance. Courageous ideas and authentic experimentation are favored now.

Jupiter in Leo opposed Pluto in Aquarius (July 20th)

This is a moment of intense tension between personal ambition and collective power. Jupiter in Leo amplifies your desire for recognition, creative expression, and bold expansion, while Pluto in Aquarius challenges the structures, technologies, and social systems that shape the wider world. You may feel pulled between asserting your individuality and confronting the deeper forces that influence groups, institutions, or communities.

Individually, this transit encourages you to:

  • Examine where your personal goals clash with broader societal pressures.

  • Transform overinflated pride, ego-driven pursuits, or rigid attachments to control.

  • Seek collaboration without losing your voice—power and influence are strongest when balanced with insight and adaptability.

  • Be willing to release outdated paradigms to create space for innovation, authentic leadership, and social evolution.

Think of this as a “heroic reckoning” period—an opportunity to navigate power dynamics with courage, integrity, and creative intelligence.

Jupiter in Leo trine Saturn in Aries (August 31st)

This transit brings a rare opportunity to blend bold expansion with disciplined action. Jupiter in Leo encourages creative self-expression, joy, and taking calculated risks, while Saturn in Aries grounds these impulses with focus, strategy, and personal responsibility.

Individually, this transit invites you to:

  • Turn inspired ideas into concrete plans with patience and structure.

  • Step into leadership or take initiative in ways that are both ambitious and sustainable.

  • Build long-term confidence by aligning passion with practical effort.

  • Balance enthusiasm with discipline, allowing your creativity to flourish without burning out.

Think of this as a “hero’s mastery moment”—where vision meets strategy, and your personal brilliance can be anchored into lasting achievement.

Neptune sextile Pluto (they come close in July, but will be exact in the summer of 2027)

This transit invites a subtle but powerful shift in how we transform and dream. Neptune in Aries awakens personal courage, vision, and inspired action, while Pluto in Aquarius pushes collective evolution, innovation, and the dismantling of old systems. Together, they create a harmonious sextile, offering a rare alignment where personal insight supports societal transformation.

Individually, this energy encourages you to:

  • Channel your visions and ideals into meaningful, innovative projects.

  • Release old fears and embrace a bolder, pioneering sense of purpose.

  • Sense where personal transformation aligns with collective growth.

  • Trust subtle guidance from intuition and the unconscious to guide decisive, transformative action.

Think of this as a “meeting with the supernatural guide” moment—a time when personal insight and collective awakening converge, quietly steering you toward innovation, courage, and new possibilities.

With two very rare aspects involving Neptune and separating sexxtiles, some interesting new consciousness is stirring.

Looking across 2026, several trends emerge with clarity:

  • Outer Planet Momentum – July’s alignment of Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto at early Air and Fire degrees provides a rare stabilizing moment for innovation, insight, and collective transformation. Fluid, inventive progress is supported by courageous, visionary action. On the heels of eclipse season and Jupiter opposing Pluto, I wouldn’t rule out a bit of drama at the same time as really exciting things taking place.

  • Water-Sign Foundations – Personal planets and new moon seeds emphasize Piscean, Cancerian, and Scorpio tones, creating emotional depth, intuitive insight, and relational attunement. Dreams, empathy, and creative visions can now be anchored into practical value.

  • Fire & Air Expansion – Early Fire degrees in Saturn, along with Air-leaning outer planets, create momentum for leadership, idea-sharing, and intellectual breakthroughs. Assertive energy is tempered by reflection, allowing bold steps. On the downside, Saturn in Aries could intensify the militant structuring of society, but also bring fresh maverick energies that are independent and pot-stirring.

  • Numerological Energy: 1 Year & Chinese Fire Horse – 2026 is a 1 Year, a time for fresh beginnings, independent initiative, and bold action. Combined with the Fire Horse archetype, the year carries adventurous, pioneering energy, optimism, and a sense of playful freedom. We are called to charge forward with courage, creativity, and a dash of showmanship, forging paths that feel authentic while building bridges in relationships and communities.

  • Integration of Vision and Action – From Neptune’s inspiration to Pluto’s deep transformation, Uranus’ ingenuity, and Jupiter’s expansion, the year invites alignment of personal initiative with collective progress. Courage meets strategy, insight meets experimentation, and dreaming meets practical manifestation. Rare sextile aspects between Uranus and Neptune, and Neptune and Pluto, will open up new fields of consciousness that could change reality as we know it.

In short, 2026 is a year of dynamic balance and pioneering spirit: the Fire Horse urges bold, independent action, while the cosmos provides support for inspired innovation, emotional attunement, and constructive risk-taking. It’s a year to dream, act, and forge new paths with courage, optimism, and vision.

Move your energy outward, into the world. Bring emotional care toward pioneering initiatives.

Happy 2026, friends!

Allie

2025 | A year of transitions

The world is shifting in 2025

Outer realm planets, hence potent undertones of how the world is moving and evolving, are shifting focus; we start a new 19-year draconic cycle as the north node moves into Pisces, reversing through the zodiac until it returns to 0°Aries in 2043 (taking our eclipses through each sign); Numerologically, 2025 adds down to 9, putting us in a year of wisdom and endings; in my own philosophy, a huge 15-year cycle will close out at the New Year, reorienting how we will all plug into life for the next 15 years.

I’m going to start with the deepest undertone shifts and work my way through to the more specific and transitory energies, cycle by cycle, planet by planet. Buckle in. This will be a long post!

More Soul, Less Ego | A New 15-Year Tone

You’ve likely heard me bring this up in past substack posts, but this is the moment! We are ending a Gemini phase that we’ve been in since 2010. I won’t get into the mechanics of it, but it has to do with smaller phases within an astrological age.

From 2025-2040 a new phase will rule the tone of life, moving the world from a very adolescent sensibility to one that’s trying to be more mature under a Cancer, or 4th house, influence.

To back it up a little, in 1980 we crossed a threshold into a new sort of world, very Piscean in tone. It’s been like working our way through the birth of a Pisces rising world in 15-year increments, from infancy through adolescence (15 years in the 1st house of infancy, 15 years in the 2nd house of childhood, and 15 years of the 3rd house of adolescence).

If you look at a Pisces rising chart, we’ve been in the 3rd house of connection and communication (Gemini’s natural house) since 2010, but in this chart, Taurus rules the 3rd house of teenage drama and flirtation. Movement, connection, and intelligence have mingled very closely with beauty, values, and voice.

While I adore Taurus as well as the Gemini-ish 3rd house, when any influence is singled out for 15-years we see the full spectrum of light and shadow.

Beauty and Youth

How many youthful celebrities have beauty lines these days? The third house wants eternal youth, Taurus wants beauty, and our overall Pisces world is a bit fantasy prone. I feel like The Hunger Games was prophetic with the Capital (those we treat as celebrity) showing up as more and more plastic and artificial in nature. At the other end of the spectrum, many of us have learned a lot about beauty through how we eat and take care of ourselves—skincare via nutrition and natural products, tapping into the healing side of Pisces and the nature loving side of Taurus (and getting informed via a 3rd house influence).

Voice and Communication

Voice (Taurus) + communication (3rd house) feels like the perfect incubator for podcasts and often a lot of these podcasts become popular when they focus on gossip, hosting with friends or siblings, or highlighting guests with valuable information—all 3rd house themes. On social media (very 3rd house teenage stuff), does it feel like those with the loudest voices are the ones dominating and influencing the world? I’m often astounded by astrology advice I come across on social media. Just because someone can make it entertaining or speak with confidence people applaud and popularize accounts that are actually amateur and undereducated. On the other hand, because of social media I’ve found excellent astrologers whom I adore and have been able to connect my own ideas out in the world in ways I would never have been able to before. With Taurus deeply connected to our senses, ASMR and food have held a special place on social media as well.

Spinning Values

Taurus being the second sign of the zodiac is the sign that starts to make us aware of choice—this or that, good or bad, right or left. While this ability to develop preference leads to molding beauty, enculturation, and values, it can also produce polarizing black and white orientation. Add in the 3rd house, which is dimensional and duplicitous, and we’ve got our heads spinning with value arguments. Social media comment sections are fraught with black and white arguments, cancel culture, as well as very loud voices. Politics has become good versus evil with teenage-ish mob mentality. Body autonomy (Taurus) and reproductive rights (3rd house shows our birds and bees time of life) have been in a never-ending debate over what’s good or bad. What are our values and who possesses what due to those values?

Mental Health and Pathways

Ruling adolescence, the 3rd house shows our ability for neurogenesis, but also a proneness for anxiety with much effort put toward connection, learning, and feeling intelligent. While the connectivity of the world has brought out all of our anxieties, we’ve also learned a ton about the brain and mental health. Neurogenesis is the formation of pathways in our brain, but pathways happen in the outer world just as excitedly. Distribution pathways, sales pathways, road and air pathways. Hello, Amazon. When the world came to a halt in 2020, we saw how fragile some of our commerce pathways were as well as where, geo-politically, covert/strategic hoarding of pathways through China had gone un-checked. In Gaza, a war is partially playing out in tunneled pathways. Pathways are pervasive these days. The US (and others) hasn’t held back engaging in proxy wars between neighboring countries (3rd house encompasses neighbors and neighborly tensions), partially using these to trench its own long distance military pathways.

The Next Phase of Life

I could go on for days to unpack the Taurus 3rd house of the last 15 years, how each sign orients to that, as well as how a Gemini rising chart also has influence and can show how each sign plugs into the moment (my new website will go deeper into this). But, I will move on to what’s ahead. In the Pisces organism that the world is, the Cancerian 4th house, that we are moving to, is ruled by Gemini. We come out of a 45-year spring phase of development and move into our next 15-year phase and also the next 45-year summer season of development.

Our level of development as a world will move from adolescence into the threshold of young adult. The 4th house (in my philosophy) rules the ages of 21-28. It’s a time of more seriously committing to a direction in life, creating foundations, and, in our modern world, becoming more aware of things like bills, loans, and income. We move from hyper-connected anxiety to insecurity about feeling stable and rooted in life. The 4th house is Cancer territory where we start to turn toward a more feminine orientation, developing our inner life, vulnerably expressing our feelings, and reflecting on life. It’s like moving from a waxing gibbous moon that is very lively and active to a full moon that slows things down and turns us to an inner orientation each month. Developmentally, we also begin to prune pathways as we enter this attempting-to-be-an-adult period.

On the yin side of ourselves, this phase may have us caring more, feeling more tender, and wanting to root in and nourish life. On the yang side of ourselves, things like security and protection can become reactive to feelings of insecurity. In the US, we are certainly facing a new political power that wants Cancerian/4th house things like boarder security, nationalism, and traditional, family-oriented living. A desire for safety and a reactivity around this is something we will face in many ways for the next 15 years. At the same time, we are developing a Pisces chart, meaning there is always an undertone of shadow work, compassion, transcending, and inspiration.

I have hope that potential aggressiveness around security and protectiveness can be tempered, in that the 4th house does indicate the feminine growing in power. The yin aspects of care, depth, soul, and tenderness will have profound awakenings. The Gemini influence ruling the 4th house will insist on diversity and connectivity.

If this were a hero’s journey we are moving into the ordeal, or the atonement with the father after having met the Goddess in this past phase. Compared to the heroine’s journey we will work to overcome the stepmother after having met the beast (I talk about the goddess phase in the Mars section of this post).

In short, we are all descending into the depths to shed ego as a world and find soul, having been blessed by the Goddess (or our yin married to our yang). We are coming to a showdown with an ultimate power and overcoming improbable odds—defeating what holds power over us (Luke facing Darth Vader), or gaining its favor (Thor proving to his father that he’s worthy of his hammer). Like Cinderella, we work to find the voice we need to shake off the oppressive stepmother and go for what our hearts know we deserve, or better understand the boundaries that are healthy for us. In short, that ultimate thing that feels like an overlord, we work to confront it so it no longer triggers us.

It’s scary, intuitive, and sometimes seemingly irrational work, but, ultimately, work that will help us learn to become more responsive versus reactionary, young adults versus teenagers. We will learn to become decent humans before we can stand on our own to be great teachers, parents, and leaders. Start to notice a shift toward responding to what you want in life (I can heal/make/learn/start….) versus doing things in life in reaction to what’s going on with a tendency toward finger pointing, separating, and rejecting.

Possible Trends to Come

While it’s hard to predict how a Gemini 4th house will develop, I’ll take a stab at a few possible trends that could crop up.

  • With 4th house developmental progress being about foundations and the qualities of Gemini including movement, we could see a lot of new infrastructure around transportation (could we get bullet trains, or something speedy between large US cities?).

  • Our past 15-year 3rd house needed migration/pollination to happen, but the 4th house likes boundaries and security. Adding Gemini qualities here, there may be a ramp-up in wanting to secure information, secure neighboring borders, and secure our homes with stronger communities. (I actually feel that one of the best places to put our energy will be in creating beautiful and caring communities.)

  • Even more extreme, Gemini loves community and the 4th house loves home and family—it’s possible that we see communes become a more popular way of living.

  • In many ways land is ruled by the 4th house and Gemini wants multiple of things. Living in more than one place might become more common.

  • Gemini is one of the least feminine signs and the 4th house turns us toward a feminine orientation. There could be tension around how our newly and more inwardly connected masculine and feminine sides show up with vulnerability, something desperately needed when mapping the hero and heroine’s journeys onto this time.

  • I have my own theories about how each sign/house relates to the 12 intervals between an octave, as well as to our seasons, to showcase levity outside of the more serious hero/heroine’s journeys—some mood vibes. I’ll put a link to slowly growing playlists with songs that have good interval integrations for this past 3rd house cycle and the coming 4th house cycle. The 3rd house is the minor 3rd interval. It feels whimsically circular and curious to me. The 4th house is the major 3rd interval. It feels a little more foundational to me. There’s still a lightness there on top of an ability to bring nostalgic as well as soulful sounds. The 3rd house is like June’s late spring (pollination and blossoming) and the 4th like July’s hottest height of summer (vacation and time out from normal life).

  • I also love looking at literature for insight into the cultural mood of different cycles. The last time we were in a 3rd house cycle was between 1830-1845. Recognizable titles during this time included Oliver TwistThe Hunchback of Notre-DameThe Little MermaidThe Count of Monte Cristo, and The Fountainhead. 1845-1860 was our last 4th house cycle and titles included Moby DickMadame BovaryThe Scarlet LetterUncle Tom’s Cabin12 Years a SlaveThe House of Seven Gables, and The Origin of Species. In the past 3rd house cycle, literature emphasized themes of individualism, ego, and identity. In the past 4th house cycle there was soul seeking in the deep waters of Moby Dick, unpacking of a nation’s past, examination of the desire to subjugate women and the use of slavery, peeking into family inheritance and secrets, and new ways of looking at evolution arose.

  • Big 4th house focuses that could become forefront: DNA/genetics/epigenetic, history, ancestry, family, women, mothers, soul, subjugation (what we build on the backs of), emotion, memory, nostalgia, imagination, fiction literature, nourishment, and support systems.

I’m sure there are a thousand possibilities I’d never think of, but here’s to a shift in season—to, hopefully, finding care for ourselves and others as we use the marriage of head and heart in overcoming big things and using imagination.

Transcending Shadows | North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo

Over an almost 19-year period of time our lunar nodes traverse backward through the whole of the zodiac, spending roughly 1.5 years in each sign. Our nodes shows us a lot about the headlines in any given year.

When the north node, a point of origin and hunger (in myths, called the Dragon’s Head), moves through a sign it’s a time of working through shadows in that part of the zodiac in order to transcend old limits and experience a rebirth and new hunger.

The south node is directly opposite, showing a halfway mark of a sign’s draconic journey. It’s where edits are being made based on what’s become productive, purposeful, and useful—out with what’s weighing us down. Both nodes can create endings and wild card shifts—where they are shows the axis of signs that are hosting eclipses.

On January 11th, the north node will have finished its tour of Aries’ shadows (aggression, confrontation, domination) completing a 19-year journey. We arrive to new hunger and a transcended sense of Aries’ positives (authenticity, passion, direction). When the north node is at 0° of Aries, the Draconic Zodiac and the Tropical Zodiac are perfectly aligned, as the north node always denotes 0°Aries in the Draconic Zodiac. A new cycle of tuning our zodiac begins. Because of the reverse nature of the nodes, we work through the most complex things first and then work our way through to the most personal.

With Pisces being the host of the north node in 2025, we will begin to witness and experience shadow work of the most illusory, complex, and slippery nature. Institutional settings and bureaucracy will be highlighted— the shadows of prisons, hospitals, universities, religions, and governments. The arts and anything related to glamour will need to be cracked open. Hollywood is likely in for it. We may also see con artists and other kinds of artists in the spotlight. Mysticism, healers, and spirituality are also Pisces in nature, indicating shadows to uproot around the most intangible aspects of life.

Virgo at the south node will show us where edits are needing to be made around work, wellness, lifestyle, systems, and skills that require practice and technique. We may have to face critiques around living sustainably and sufficiently. Ecosystems may be pushed to the forefront in critical ways.

Overall, in a personal sense, it will be a year to be surrendered around compassion and forgiveness and to be productive around well-being. You might consider scheduling in more alone time for contemplation.

A 9 Numerological Year and the Chinese Snake

2024 put our year into a numerological tone of 8. A vibration that has built the authority, focus, and power to make waves. I follow the 1-9 pattern of astrology through my own years, months, and days. Without fail, on 8 days, I get shit done.

This past year we had the pairing of the Chinese Dragon Year with this 8 vibration. The Dragon is said to be magic, powerful, and fierce. The Dragon gets put on a pedestal, but it has its shadows. It can be a bully when it wants. Dragon aligns with Aries in the Tropical Zodiac and can be quite selfish. Doubling down, we’ve had the Aries north node this past year, doing shadow work and rebirths in Aries energy of aggression vs assertiveness, domination vs direction, demolition and militant-ism vs rebirths and fresh order.

Dragon has also been in the wood element, which gets angry when obstructed, adding to further aggression.

How many powerful (8 vibration) yet aggressive and bullying (Aries and Dragon) people have been in the headlines this year? I can name more than a few: Putin, Netanyahu, Trump, Elon, Diddy, Kanye, to name the biggies. I’m sure this concoction was used to make waves in positive ways as well, but these other things dominated the headlines, in terms of my awareness.

In 2025, the 9 vibration brings a 9-year cycle to a close. This vibration tends to bring wisdom, revelation, and culmination. 9 is a humanitarian, it wants to protect those at the bottom, understanding that we, collectively, are no better than those who are the worst off. There’s a want to spread and share ideas and universalize the lessons it can see. My husband is a 9 and is possibly the least selfish person I know (even being an Aries).

Historically, very transformational things have happened on the world stage over 9 years: Brexit, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of WWII, the collapse of the Czarist regime, and the end of the US Civil War.

The Lunar New Year (technically the new Chinese animal takes over when the Sun is at 315° of the Tropical Zodiac on February 4th) will also shift us into the Chinese Snake energy. The Snake is subtle. It is intuitive, shy, intelligent, perceptive, and deep thinking, It is connected with renewal and is a practical visionary. It is adaptable, quick, and ambitious. With yin wood connected this year (yin wood is like grasses and flowers vs yang wood of last year like tree growth) seeds can spread and grow very quickly. There is imagination with this concoction and in connection with the 9, we may see wise people dominating the headlines in the coming year.

A Transitional Time - Pluto Through Jupiter

The powerhouses of the zodiac take anywhere from 1 year to 20 years to traverse a full zodiac sign. This year, each of our big outer planets are going to shift to a new sign, at least for an initial visit (due to retrogrades).

PLUTO

At the boundary line where the dark of our galaxy and universe meets our contained solar system, Pluto, frozen, small, but packed with power, orbits with secrets and mystery—keys to our evolution. Since 2008 (minus a few months earlier in 2024), Pluto has been alchemizing the power of the patriarchy in Capricorn. Of structure, corporation, and capitalism. The rise of the billionaire and their reach into influence of all kinds has peaked. We need to see the extremes of a sign with Pluto to notice and ask ‘What’s going on here?’, motivating a dig into the underbelly of it all.

Capricorn, mythologically, has associations with the golden age, always longing for those times when things were better.

Trump nailed the ethos of Capricorn with ‘Make American Great Again’ merged with Pluto’s political associations. But, in late November, Pluto made a shift into Aquarius (to stay until 2043). We’ve completed what we’ve needed to unearth with growing concern and awareness around where Capricorn corrupts in its want to hold onto status, hierarchy, and material gain, versus using its executive and foresightful powers to serve. Time will tell how our evolved understandings will revamp the world—the Aquarius curriculum will naturally shake this up.

Historically, when Pluto storms into Aquarius after evolving and empowering the elite, revolutions rise up (last time we saw the French and Haitian Revolutions). Power to the people is returning, but not without a willingness to do deep alchemical work, psyche work, investigative work, research, uprooting, unearthing, dirty work. Pluto is a renovator, a transformer, and Aquarius wants to envision a better and more humane future. Pluto wants to empower and Aquarius wants to innovate. Pluto wants to manage (or if corrupt, hoard) shared resources and Aquarius wants collaboration.

While signs of power to the people are held in this concoction, with Pluto, it’s never easy. Get into the trenches for humanity and be a part of envisioning what could be in the future, many generations past our own time—past personal ego.

Historically, lots of new technologies have arisen during this transit—paper, gun powder, the printing press, the cotton gin. Some of these things have allowed the wide spread of truth that powers often attempt to unsuccesfully repress for a time. Some of the technologies have brought horrors. Aquarius often gets put on a pedestal around its altruism of thinking about the collective, but every sign has its shadows and Aquarius’ detached, scientific, technological instincts can bring plenty of these.

NEPTUNE

Since 2011, Neptune, the planet that shows what we glamorize, find inspiring and transcendent, and give an artistic lens to, has been in Pisces.

This concoction has brought a glamorization of media, or mass communication. On top of the 15-year Gemini/3rd house phase, which adores communication, there’s been a storm of wading through illusion in information and media. Consciousness has been a big thread that this transit has attended to as we’ve explored alternate realities, microdosing miracles, and the multiverse. Neptune is a co-ruler of Pisces so there’s been some doubling down of themes present—glamorizing glamour, finding inspiration in mysticism, transcending the transcendent, bringing art to the otherworldly.

As we prepare to leave this hyper-dream realm, appreciate the spiritual journeys and awareness you’ve gained.

From March 30 - October 22, Neptune will start its foray into a new tour of the zodiac as it glides into Aries. In October it will reverse back to Pisces for a last goodbye until January 26, 2026, at which time it will more permanently anchor into Aries until 2038.

As we get an initial glimpse of this new tone of glamour, we may see a stark contrast. A move from glamorizing the ethereal nature of life to glamorizing the rugged truths of life. Victor Hugo published "Les Misérables"and Dostoyevsky couldn’t be stopped from inspiring with his thoughts of the human spirit. Aries will bring the eye of art and fashion toward what’s actionable and direct. With Aries being the pioneer, new art forms may arise. We may experience a spiritual shift, feeling inspired to make life clear, fresh, and authentic. Rose-colored glasses could open our hearts around being assertive and passionate. Some may even glamorize war, with this transit historically aligning with crusades. Neptune can also relate to gases, petrolium, plastics, and chemistry, while Aries is metals, machinery, and rough work. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more drilling, new chemistry discoveries, and something pioneering around plastics.

URANUS

The rabble rouser of the solar system, Uranus can show us what electrifies collectives, what conformity is being shaken up, and what kind of innovation is changing the world. It’s had a rough go of things in Taurus, its sign of detriment, as this sign wants tradition and stubbornly clings to enculturation.

In Taurus since 2018, we’ve seen a rise in authoritarianism, globally. The last time Uranus visited, Hitler, Mussolini, Hirohito, and Stalin rose up. Taurus holds some control over cultural values and possessions. When Uranus lands here, collectives can be galvanized by those with a stubborn moral stance and a want to possess and polarize collectives.

We’ve seen Uranus disruption with collectives against collectives around Taurus/Venus themes of body autonomy and queer rights. While the status quo that got shaken was the overturning of Roe v Wade, I have to believe in Uranus’ ultimate goal of progress and innovation, even if Taurus is Uranus’ sign of detriment. Maybe there is a more innovative vision we still need to plug into, getting over our own stubborn hold on Roe v Wade and freeing ourselves to look at radically different paths towards body autonomy and LGBTQ+ rights.

For a blip this year, Uranus will buzz over to Gemini, from July 7th to November 2nd, before reversing back to Taurus until the spring of 2026. We will see some first bullet points regarding new rebellion efforts. Another reason why I believe one of the most important things we can do in the next decade is to build loving communities, is Uranus in Gemini tends to bring rebellion toward infighting. We blend shakeups and community. During the last round of Uranus in Gemini, the US found itself in a civil war.

In the US, specifically, Uranus’ move to Gemini puts this shakeup planet in our 7th house of conflict and opponents. This is also the sign of its return, with Uranus in Gemini in the US chart. This adds pressure that can start to bring fractures. Historically, the last (and only) three Uranus returns have coincided with wars for the US: the revolutionary war, the civil war, and WWII.

*We have Pluto in Aquarius that loves revolutions for the people and against the elite, Neptune dipping into Aries, glamorizing confrontation and spiritual crusades, and Uranus in Gemini stirring the pot between neighbors and in the US, between all sorts of opponents. But we can also choose to be more mature than our past. We can choose inclusive revolutions/evolution with Pluto in Aquarius, compassionate action with Neptune in Aries, and open-mindedness in our communities (and with the ‘other’ in the US) with Uranus in Gemini. We can choose to care about each other despite differences. We can lean into the biggest undertone of the Cancer phase of a compassionate Pisces world and choose care and sensitivity.

I see a lot of astrologers speaking about this confluence of war energies, and while it’s insightful to know how the past might repeat itself, we aren’t our past and we can be more evolved if we work on ourselves first then go out and do the work of peace-making. Something AOC recently said has been sticking with me. Something to the effect of we need to get past the narcissism of holding onto our differences (as in, how can we look at what unifies rather than separates us).

SATURN

Saturn is our planet of structure and constructs, the furthest out planet we see with the naked eye, like a boundary or norm we are aware of—societal traditions. In Pisces, something dissolves about structure and we seek authorities who can hold deep complexity (or illusion). We can feel like the traditions and structures that once kept us upright and integral are turning to jelly. This transit can help us to see the shadows of society and tap into compassionate responsibility. I don’t know about you, but this transit has been feeling pretty real with the recent election.

There is a lifecycle to all of these planets and Pisces shows the end stop.

When Saturn moves to Aries on May 24th (until September 1st due to retrograde), we can find new direction and impulses around what we want to build in life and what we want to master. The direction of society might feel more clear. Pioneering building is ahead. Authorities who are pioneering and bold will step up, but also, I hate to bring this thread up again, potentially, authorities in military-minded roles. Aries loves order and Saturn loves authority, planning, and building.

JUPITER

The fastest of the powerhouse planets, Jupiter has a year long transit, currently moving through a sign it’s uncomfortable in, Gemini. Jupiter likes to push our boundaries, perspectives, concepts, and vision of life, taking us into foreign territory. Gemini wants to feel belonging and gets into the details of life—what’s here and now. Our sense of expanding life could feel a bit stifled as Jupiter asks us to expand our beliefs around community and what is local to us. Find wonder in what community and messaging mean to you in a philosophical way, through spring.

On June 9th, Jupiter will move into the sign of its exaltation, Cancer. Cancer provides nourishment for the growth that Jupiter seeks.

For the next year, through June 2026, notice stability underfoot regarding your ability to dream and find a vision for life. Hope and nourishment mingle here. Give hope to the part of you that can feel insecure by mixing your imagination with your willingness to push your boundaries. Dream big!

Our Hero’s Journey - Following Mars

As we wake to a new year, our current Mars journey to individuate and answer to our life force—to save ourselves—is nearing its end. We started a two year journey in December of 2022 in the sign of Gemini. We’ve been through a lot in two years, gaining a better understanding of our minds and mental health, our purpose in community, and in using communication authentically. We’ve more recently found what empowers our connectivity.

On January 15th, we begin a new Mars journey, this time ignited in the sign of Cancer. For the next two years we will set out to discover ourselves through roots, imagination, soul, security, family, femininity, and home.

This ties in nicely with the 15-year Cancer phase arriving—a double down on getting in touch with our intuitive, caring side.

While the Mars journey takes two years, we will be experiencing the first half of the Hero’s journey in 2025. This is a personal journey, not one to project too much onto bigger societal trends.

At the midpoint of the Mars retrograde, on January 15th, Mars and Earth will be in direct alignment, kicking off a new call to action.

  • Initially, we resist this, finally feeling on top of life and comfortable with a construct we’ve created. Regardless, you may feel something niggling from deep within, something more to discover. Acknowledge this niggling even if you’re not ready to take a leap or have a million reasons/excuses to hold yourself back. Life is calling you to greater and better versions of yourself (and your life) than you can currently imagine. Eventually, if you don’t answer the call of the angel of life, you walk closer toward death, zombie mode, apathy. The small self will try to live a predictable, patterned, safe life, which can lead to all sorts of dangerous pathologies and even illness. The decision is yours to save yourself. Religion, politics, family, friends, counselors, or any other external locus of control will not save you at the call to action.

  • By March 7th, we will be meeting the guide we need to prepare us. Hopefully, an acceptance of the call has been found. In real life, this can be some sort of inspiration or reintegration that helps you to be more deeply guided into the unknown. It could (but doesn’t have to) show up as a literal guide/mentor, but would be someone or something that feels ‘other’ or abnormal to your normal. In Cancer, this guide or spiritual experience would inspire something deeper and more soulful about life.

  • At the Mars/Earth separating square on April 21st, we will be crossing a threshold and entering a new world. In ordinary terms, you might start a new job, move homes, or jump into a new project. Often the threshold isn’t as clear as this, but you get the idea. As you jump into the new you have to see life with new eyes, but this doesn’t happen automatically. We immediately find ourselves in the belly of the whale where something about our old self or life feels like a wrecking ball is being taken to it. Life’s agenda becomes bigger than us. Torque is applied in that we have to take action in a way that may be counter to our old instincts. Feel into impulse amidst chaos and do what’s needed to be spit out of the whale. With Mars in Leo, courage and heart will be needed to take action and get yourself moving toward that deeper Cancerian calling.

  • On June 21st, at the Mars/Earth trine, we start a new phase of the journey, the road of trials. We will be tested to see that we are capable and to gain the skills we need to step into acceptance of our hero role, or more simply, into a version of ourselves that is growing and finding new layers of worth and recognition. With Mars in Virgo at this point, you may need to cultivate new daily rhythms, practices, skillsets, wellness efforts, or purpose to step into a greater depth that’s unfolding in you to see new capabilities rising. We also find helpers who step into our lives or those who feel like allies. In mythology and storytelling, we see minor enemies creating burdens at this stage, but in real life, the enemies are often our own self-sabotaging tendencies, inner voices, habits, etc. that we have to overcome. That said, often the external reflects the internal.

  • The last phase that we will experience in 2025 starts around September 23rd. This is the meeting of the Goddess phase. In order for the Hero to manifest their power they must join forces with their emotions. The goddess is the first step toward this. It’s about meeting the yin to our yang (or something that seems opposite to us). Sometimes that can happen externally, but it’s simply a mirror for the inner work being done to pave a road from our heads to our hearts. At this point, we may feel like we have become the hero, but the goddess stage tells us that we are actually just beginning and that something darker is ahead of us. We meet temptations that lure us away from marrying head and heart, yin to yang, and that can cause us to abandon the journey. We can point fingers at why things are going wrong rather than looking inward and finding inner reconciliation and accountability. Although it’s valuable to learn the ugly truths of a bigger world and how so many things negatively impact us—government, society, family, relationships… we are challenged to move on from pointing fingers at these things. There is always something more to blame, even ourselves, but it’s time to put on adult pants and take charge of our lives. We must find acceptance for the imperfect world and for our imperfect selves. There is a virtue test in the meeting of the goddess. She is both terrible and benevolent, divine and tricky. If we aren’t spiritually prepared, seeing her with lower vibes like lust, fear, or hesitation, we are not granted her graces and protection—we struggle to reach the emotions needed to manifest as a true hero and progress on the journey. We have to be able to hold the complexity of the yin which includes being able to be in the darkness without lashing out. The divine and the trickster can be confusing to differentiate and we have to face ourselves and stop blaming others for how life has turned out. We come face to face with many dimensions of life and ourselves during this stage and it can be a slippery slope to get out of circles of abandoning our journey or not being spiritually worthy enough to understand how our feminine side is trying to help us—seeing what you CAN do, rather than keeping tabs on who’s doing what (I can heal, I can learn, I can create…). In Scorpio, we may feel a want to point at power and trauma for why our life is how it is or why everything in the world is broken. The challenge is to tap that Scorpio energy to say, I can do _____ to empower my foundations. *THIS is also the stage of the 15-year phase we are about to leave. If you have Disney+, I highly recommend watching the Loki series. It captures so much about what we’ve all metaphorically been working through as a world and as individuals since 2010 (as well as over the past 2 years as the current Mars journey seeded in Gemini), with a bit of a Mercury/3rd house archetype during this meeting of the Goddess phase.

In the 2-year Mars journey currently ending (that had a Gemini purpose), I started this Substack pretty close to the call to action. In revising my first post, I spelled out how it was a temporary and experimental home to try and find a new CosmoMuse vision (if there even was one). By taking that leap into Substack, I have now come full circle. By the end of the Mars journey, I will be close to finishing my new website, where I finally have a space to share all of my frameworks and philosophies that have been swimming and organizing in my head for over a decade.

In true Gemini fashion, I have found my expression and how I should be communicating my passion. I had to take a wrecking ball to an already fractured site that housed so much work and so many gorgeous memories.

I definitely experimented with the Substack platform. It was a great start, but something wasn’t exactly right. I finally committed to making a whole new website on my own and have found the home that feels like it’ll be right. In other Gemini insights, I also found out that I have ADHD and have found so much new acceptance for how I work and how to support (as well as utilize) my unique and creative brain. And I have, as this journey tends to result in, found myself anew, empowered in the Gemini section of my chart.

Our Heroine’s Journey - Following Venus

The Venus heroine’s journey is a 19-month journey about autonomy, finding self-worth, new values, and our voice. It’s more of an inner journey to reclaim our feminine side. Both hero and heroine journeys initially descend and reconnect to the feminine, but Venus always stays close to the Sun from our view. She is inside of our orbit and takes us on a journey inward. Mars’ marriage to the feminine is more about becoming whole in how we act in the world. The being (Venus) and the doing (Mars) sides of ourselves.

As we arrive in a new year, we are coming to the end of a Venus journey that started in August 2023. The brightest planet in our night sky holds special adoration, and when she meets our even brighter satellite, Luna, these two feminine archetypes help us move from one stage to another in the Venus journey, with our chakra system also entangled.

Right off the bat, on January 3rd, our Venus/Luna meeting starts a process of re-empowering our throat chakras as we are nearing the end of a journey. At this juncture, there is some kind of empowerment we’ve found. With power comes responsibility and new tough decisions might come our way. We may have to speak truths that require a sacrifice. For example, if we find out something we have the power to change is negatively impacting others or the world, we might have to witness this and use our expression to terminate something we care about. Maybe there’s something about ourselves that we newly witness, something unearthed, which requires us to go through a transformation. In Pisces, all of this may contribute showing an expression of courage and creativity after some compassion is found.

  • The next meetup (February 1st) starts to reawakens our third eye. We gain more sight and our yin/yang balance starts to merge more harmoniously in how we are claiming our voice, values, and worth. Our heart takes the lead and our head follows its direction to enact its wishes. We see ourselves use empathy in our decisions as well as decisiveness of action. In Aries, we may work to find new order and clarity about what we stand for and what our hearts desire.

  • On March 1st/2nd, with Venus in Aries, we come into a balanced world, further enhancing 3rd eye energy. Let the power of your heart and clarity of value flow.

  • At the midpoint of Venus’ retrograde, we start a new Venus journey as Venus and Earth align. The tone of the new Venus journey seeds in Aries energy on March 22nd and our crown chakra opens. On March 28th with the Luna meetup, we find permission of happiness from what we’ve just been through and also refuse to see new cracks forming in other areas of our perfect world. These cracks may orient around our sense of Self, our ability to feel passionate and authentic, and our independent, clear voice. Stay connected to your crown chakra as downloads, unity consciousness, and openness will help you to see what you’d rather not around what’s no longer right in your world. Through the remainder of 2025, Venus will be on a decent toward the underworld, not quite reaching it before the end of the year.

I’m going to wait for the new website to detail each of the steps of the coming journey. I’m hoping to create a community offering to help guide those who join, through this journey. The Mars journey is usually more obvious, but the Venus one is internal and takes reflection and awareness to really see it in action.

Range & Triangulating the Mind - Following Mercury

Our fastest planet is one that has its own patterns that are insanely intricate and difficult to track. A simple idea to keep in mind is that Mercury helps us to triangulate the slippery realm of mind and truth. It will seed three different journeys in one year, weaving threads that share the same element.

In 2024, the midpoint of each of its three yearly retrogrades seeded fire sign journeys, triangulating what our passion and spirit need to understand and move in life (Aries/impulse, Leo/command, Sagittarius/perspective).

Interest, curiosity, thinking, and wanting information about things fire-y, inflammatory, egotistical, and sometimes even violent has been top of mind: What happened with the Trump assassination attempts; why are Boeing whistleblowers turning up dead, why are Russians with influence who are opposed to Putin ‘falling out of windows’, unpacking semitism versus zionism and the anti of each, what’s going on with the Russia/Ukraine war, the Israel/Hamas-Hezbollah-Houthi (Iran) war—all the heinous wars; why are people shooting at commercial planes; what crimes and violence was Diddy perpetrating (if this thread continues into 2026, interest will likely become more about psyche, entanglements, and power as we move to water threads); what’s going on with a ramp-up in hate speech…?

The other side is interest in things spirited and energetic, journeying and pioneering: The first in 50 years, a US owned spacecraft landed on the moon; the world’s longest treasure hunt (Golden Owl) ended after 31 years; ruins of an ancient lost city were discovered in Ecuador, the world’s third largest mosque, Grand Mosque, was inaugurated in Algeria; Taylor Swift became the first musician to become a billionaire from her music and concerts alone.

In 2025, the first two retrogrades will continue with this fire sign trend, triangulating and weaving understandings around spiritedness and feistiness.

  • Mercury rx cazimi: 7/31/25 at 9°00’ Leo (a journey seeding around knowing our hearts and command)

  • Mercury stations direct: 8/11/25 at 4°14’ Leo

At the end of 2025, Mercury will start a new elemental triangulation, reversing into the water signs. This first one will be in Scorpio. While threads of fire will still braid through our lives, we will start to notice a shift of interest around the last month of the year. Something more emotional, deep, and ungraspable will start to intrigue us. The fluid nature of mind—the connection between mental and emotional—will begin a thread that starts to toggle our focus between what’s loud and exciting with the fire journeys to what’s subtle and unknowable, moving into the water journeys (Cancer/soul, Scorpio/power, Pisces/transcendence). When people talk about jumping timelines, I often think there’s a Mercury element afoot. We may feel we are starting to jump timelines as we end 2025 and move into 2026.

Happy 2025, friends! We certainly live in wild times and there’s no lack of that trend in the stars this year. Stay connected and caring. As a final thought, in creation myths, chaos always precedes creation. As chaotic as these times may feel, it is the precursor to creation—the incubator of possibility amidst what may seem like all is falling apart.

XO,

Allie
