Initially in Sagittarius, Luna brings an expansive and seeking mood that channels the heart’s vision and aim. By the time we wake on Friday, the moon will have already moved to oppose the sun. Now in Aquarius—and especially as it reaches full in the early hours of Saturnday morning—Luna draws us inward toward the soul of Earth in Aquarius, grounding the Leo solar energy. This marks our seasonal yin/yang opposition. Grounding, nourishing, and tending to the foundations of life come through Aquarius energy this season, and the moon here highlights that need.
It’s time to enrich our depths through how we plug into the collective story. What are the greater patterns at play—the collective myths our personal stories live within? When we take time to nourish those greater patterns, we help make the collective energy more fertile and humane. Our own stories can then thrive more fully within that evolved framework.

We wake on Sunday to the moon having swum into Pisces. This is the point in Leo Season when our radiance begins to rise from the inside out. Let Pisces’ compassion, surrender, and sensitivity embolden your heart to paradoxically become both courageous and strong. Trust your heart’s wisdom to bring coherence to complexity as you surrender to it.
The West Direction
On Thursday morning (August 7th), we wake to the Sun in the 15th degree of Leo. Between this day and mid Scorpio Season in the early days of November, the Sun is in one of its two quarters with the most equal light. In the Celtic Wheel of the Year, the Sun is now setting in the west, opening a path to the otherworld. Wisdom reigns, and the water element signifies cleansing and connecting with source. This cross-quarter season is called Lammas or Lughnasadh, signifying the start of harvest season, with many making bread to signify the gathering of grains.
In Chinese astrology, this same period is ruled by the metal element. Refinement is metal’s theme, cutting away superfluous, dead weight, and honing in on priorities with more simplicity and elegance. Metal rules the lungs and grief. It’s a time of letting go, with the days noticeably shortening in length. Begin to pay more attention to breath. What do you need to edit, let go of, or let change?

Mars Enters Libra
Wednesday, August 6th - September 22nd (5:23 pm MT)
I don’t care if traditional astrology claims Mars is in detriment in Libra; I find Mars in this sign can be quite fierce when it taps into Libra’s secret weapon—resonance.
Mars bulldozes to revive and create fresh direction. It likes uniformity, order, and protection. Heroism and action. But in Libra, it must use subtler force—not brute strength, but mirroring. Mars must build and defend using balance rather than a hammer and sword.
In Libra, the good soldier pauses to reflect. It checks its conscience. It must recognize the impact its actions and reconstructions have had.
The warrior in Libra becomes the whistleblower. I find the South Node quite similar to Libra, and Mars crossed it just a couple of weeks ago. As I predicted, we’re seeing this trend take shape.
For example, former U.S. Green Beret Lt. Col. Anthony Aguilar spoke out about what he witnessed on the front lines in Gaza while distributing aid for the IDF. Of course, his account has been denied with attempts to discredit him—but now that Mars is both past the South Node and in Libra, the warrior becomes a truth-teller and advocate for justice. I expect more warriors to heed their conscience and step forward with what they’ve seen—and done. In general, more action will likely be taken to question and call out unjust actions. With the mirrors of the South Node and Libra Season, a healthy dose of skepticism is introduced around the actions we, and others, take.
Yes, Libra may not suit Mars' brute style, but this role is no less essential. It's one of the most important archetypes for Mars to inhabit—to bring force, protection, and action into resonance with truth, justice, and fairness.
In our personal lives, this is a time to step into action for justice and advocacy.
Mars opposes Saturn in Aries
Friday, August 8th (9:00 pm MT)
Those who give orders must find better ways to collaborate with those receiving them. Mars isn’t in the mood to blindly obey unless the cause aligns with fairness and truth. Mars is becoming the soldier who asks questions.
Saturn in Aries, near the North Node, plays the general or executive—the boss who wants what it wants, when it wants it. But now, Saturn gets pushback. Mirrors are being held up by those it has tasked with carrying out its plans. Soldiers will only comply when the mission is fair and honest.
This also applies in business: Are you a boss? Who gives you orders, or whom do you lead? Expect tension here until Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces on September 1st.
Internally, it's time to reconcile your long-term goals with the actions you're truly willing to take.
Aquarius Full Moon
Saturday, August 9th (1:55 am MT)
Turn inward to feel what’s happening in the collective imagination. What is rich and soulful? What lacks nourishment?
Turn to your personal imagination. What are your daydreams revealing? Do you have poems, fictions, or insights to offer that could ripple out and shift collective patterns? Could your visions inspire new containers for community, care, and collective grounding?

Mars opposes Neptune in Aries
Saturday, August 9th (4:00 pm MT)
Neptune, like Saturn, is currently self-serving—stationed in Aries and hovering near the North Node. The illusionist and mystic archetype craves to create on its own terms. Picture Poseidon as an infant: sirens shrieking, tantrums stirring oceanic storms, and an 8.8-magnitude earthquake shaking the sea floor. Under Aries’ rule, the ocean feels volcanic.
As Mars in Libra (the justice-seeking warrior) faces off with Neptune, its sharp precision meets a murky adversary. But Mars will always find the right tool. Neptune may manipulate through media or art; Mars might respond through legal means, public advocacy, or reflection.
Expect potential revelations about media manipulation. Neptune and Saturn are closely aligned right now, traveling between Pisces and Aries. Mars wants to confront how power structures and executives exploit media in self-serving ways.
In these tensions, mutual aid may emerge: artists becoming warriors, and warriors becoming advocates—standing up to great forces together.
